Furniture Refinishing reviews in Boston

Amazing. Jeff, Dan and their team are fabulous - true craftsmen. They obviously love their work and care about their clients. They are responsive, timely, and know their craft in a way you just don’t see anymore. Not that I want any more issues with older pieces, but I truly look forward to working with Restorers Without Borders again and would not hesitate to recommend them.

The work which was completed within the estimated period of time was adequate, but not exceptional, given the cost of the repair ( which I felt was overpriced.) To be fair, I had been given an estimate (a range) beforehand, but as this was my first "commercial" furniture repair "experience" I should have given it more thought and shopped around. It's important to know in advance that they do not accept credit cards - only cash or a check.

Judd Refinishing had been recommended by neighborhood friends and while we expected an improved appearance for our old table and chairs,we were amazed when we received back works of art from these folks. Wonderful, quality work!

Kitchen Tune-up of Newton did an amazing job in our kitchen in Boston. They were prompt and the kitchen looks amazing. They went beyond the call of duty-adding finish to places that weren't in the contract just because as Allen said, "it's the right thing to do." I plan to hire them again when we need additional work.

    Very courteous, nice people.
They picked up the hope chest on schedule.
Bob Judd and I spoke several times. It was more work than anticipated and therefore cost a
little more which I agreed to.
    The hope chest looks terrific.
I would certainly use them again and recommend them.

I have a mid century modern (Scandinavian design) dining room set (table with 2 extensions and 6 chairs), arm chair and side table, all in teak, needing a bit of TLC.  I inherited these from my parents, which were  purchased in the early 1960's.
My mother had plants on the side table, which ruined the finish on the top.  The dining room set had a cracked captain's chair--all six chairs were wobbly and the table had lost it's luster.  The table also needed to have the extenders repaired
as they were warped and had cracked stoppers.
The armchair's wood finish was tacky to the touch and needed refinishing.
In addition to these items, I have a 5' x 5' mirror from the early 1900's  that had fallen from the wall upon moving as the wire broke that was holding it and the mosaic tile border became cracked and damaged.  Miraculously, the mirror stayed intact.
I have to admit, the quote was scary, but I wanted to bring these items back to life the right way.
Jeff's team did amazing work, which took about 7 weeks for everything, as promised.  Jeff was great to work with, very funny and sarcastic (which I enjoy).  He tells it like it is, which some people on Angie's List seem to take issue with.  The negative reviews sorta solidified my choice to use them.  He and his team are clearly perfectionists who pay great attention to detail to ensure the job is done correctly.  Was the work expensive? Sure--but was it done right and with artistry? Absolutely!
The mirror, in particular, came out beyond my expectation.  It hung in my father's  house when he was a child and my mother re-tiled the whole border herself in the 1960's.  Jeff wasn't sure at first if they could fix it, but they came up with a great solution to salvage the broken tile and hang it even more securely without a wire. They did a great job with it!
I had to stop by the shop to give him a check and was able to meet the team during their staff meeting.  It was a very nice moment for me to be able to meet them and thank them in  person for all their hard work and the beautiful restoration job they did on my pieces.
I would use them again without doubt.

They stripped the bench, filled in holes, reglued the legs,  stained and lacquered it to match the original finish.  It is gorgeous!  They did a fantastic job!  I already have the next piece to give them and can't wait for them to work their magic again.

Bruce is amazing with details ? he's our new go-to-guy!
I sent him photos of the area that needed repair. We then spoke on the phone, where I described in detail the work that needed to be done. He came over, gave me an estimate and returned to install the cabinet. It was a tricky job, because the cabinet maker had incorrectly measured for the space and Bruce had to do quite a bit of measuring and cutting in order to make the cabinet work.
It fit like a glove ? he pushed the (drawer) microwave into place and voila perfect! I truly appreciated his attention to detail, and how he described exactly what he was going to do with the installation/fix.
Can't say enough great things about him/his work.

Bob was able to remove the main railing and refinish it in his shop -  results were excellent, Refinishing brought out the beauty of the wood and is smooth as silk - a pleasure to use! There were also two smaller banisters over balusters on the other side of the stairs. These could not be removed, so Bob and his co-worker refinished them onsite. This involved removing the old stain, sanding, re-staining, and applying several coats of finish. Each step required a time lapse and a separate home visit. These banisters also turned out very well. All now look like high-quality furniture. Although the total job cost more than I had initially hoped to pay, the Angie's List deal certainly helped, and I understand that this kind of work involves the use of potentially hazardous chemicals and multiple in-home visits, which some other furniture refinishers are not able to provide. Bob was a pleasure to work with - very accommodating and he and his co-worker take real pride in their work. I am very pleased with both process and outcome.

From the moment we knocked on the Naiser Furniture door until we picked up the finished piece, Joe and his staff treated us and our furniture with respect, freely offering information and advice beyond the scope of our questions, and a great attention to detail and the highest quality.  We were not in a hurry for return of the item, and Joe's turnaround time was not quick, but he kept us informed of the progress with several phone calls during the repair process.  After giving his advice to take our refectory table to the original manufacturer, Joe graciously helped us carry the pieces out to our truck.  Thank you very much.

The quality of work performed was superior, exceeding expectations.  Repairs were made with materials as good or better than original, and we were asked for input (stain, varnish choices, etc.) during the refinishing process.

We are 100% satisfied with the work done by Naiser Furniture Restorations, and will certainly use these fine craftsmen again for future work.
