    Hammer Construction LLC
I would certainly recommend Tim of Hammer Construction—I’m definitely going to be calling them again for any future house projects. This is a talented and considerate husband-wife team that worked very hard to get me the exact window that I wanted to be installed. They always kept me informed of all parts of the project. The cost of the job was exactly as originally estimated. They were great communicators the whole time in terms of scheduling and timelines and worked around my busy work schedule. I trust them—They also gladly wore masks when finishing this project mid-pandemic. They really cared that I was happy with their work—and I was!!

HBA was great to work with — very knowledgeable and skilled team from top to bottom. Changes were fairly priced (when the the changes even resulted in charges, which certainly wasn’t always), and the finish product was exactly whaat we were looking for.

The entire crew was very professional. The job was done correctly and on time. When they uncovered rotten boards they explained and advised us accordingly so it could be repaired. We will definitely hire them again.

I had contacted Mr. Pasqualino Spadorcia at 10/24/2019. He claimed to be design and build firm, which is what I was looking for. He promptly provided the contract, which I signed and paid 1/3 of the deposit (this is large sum of money over $52K). It all went downhill from there!!! I quickly realized that he is solo general contractor that sub-contracts all work. Since signing the contract, I have waited 7 months as of now for the construction to start. However, he still hasn't broken ground for the construction. I think he has no intention to start the construction! Originally, he had promised to start on Jan 27, 2020 and complete by March 2020. Based on the start date for construction, I had planned to move out of my house and signed a lease for rental. Now every time the construction start date gets delayed, I am loosing my money on the rental. Over the past seven months, there has been many changes to construction start dates i.e. Jan 27, Feb 22, March 22, April 1, April 22 and May 1. The permit was not even filed till 2/21/2020. I had to keep pestering him to file permit. Infact, I have to keep pestering to get any information from him. I keep requesting to send details on a concrete start date and construction timeline, which he would verbally agree to provide but never follows through. Now given Covid-19 situation, which will be here for a while, despite several requests he still has not provided a clear course of action. All I keep hearing is excuses. At this point, I don't think he will ever start the construction. He is irresponsible and has poor communication. He keeps postponing, keeps coming with multiple excuses and has placed me and my family in a deep limbo. Recently, I found that he has several instances of such fraud activity reported in BBB (Better Business Bureau), which unfortunately was not online when I signed the contract with him. Please avoid hiring this contractor at any cost.

It went better than I had hoped. Pasquale and his team of guys really know what they are doing. The demolition took a couple of days. The foundation was reinforced, and the plumber took a day to get all new pipes put in and connect them to the main drain pipe, the plumber also had to install the connections for the new baseboard heaters. The wiring was done, then a new window, and a fan to the outside was installed. The the wall were insulated, drywall placed and plastered along with cement board on the floor and shower area. Finally the the new porcelain tile floor were laid and grouted and subway wall tile was placed on the walls and in the shower. After that the final touches were added. New toilet , sink , vanity, molding, lights, paint. Its looks terrific. In one of the bedrooms, a new ceiling was installed in a day, the old one had had leaks from the condo upstairs , and I was really pleased with how great and attractive it looks now. The lights are modern. The walls were painted as an added touch just to make it look better too.

    Pegasus Design-To-Build LLC
They were proffesional and fair. It was unfortunate that the windows were too small which they found out for me. And I couldn't install them. I got the windows from home depot because they were on sale before I had found Pegasus. I really wanted them to do the work for me. As soon as I can afford them I will have them try to do other works for me. I would recommend them to friends and family. I had to return the windows back to HD. And the reason I didn't call them back was because I couldnt afford the work out of pocket. I went with another company (not on angies list) that I used before that offered a nice installment plan. I don't remember that they had an installment plan available, with reasonable rates. (8%) That's all I think they are missing.

I have used other contractors in the past and can say that I have never had such a positive experience. The job was enormous- almost a complete house gut and I lived in my home while the work was going on- seven months ! Not Fun! But...... I arrived at the office for an interview with only my own scribbled plans. Jane spent a great deal of time understanding how I lived and then totally resigned my plans to reflect what I actually wanted- with many new and terrific ideas. Jeff and I discussed every change I wanted and what it would cost on a regular basis. There was unbelievable communication. I always received a call back from someone within an hour , even on weekends. The crew is lovely and they spent a lot of time screening off my living areas and cleaning up. Once I even changed my mind about a wall and some electrical work just as they finished it - and they redid it all on the spot - no problem. They have a set crew and I got to know them all . Living with them - they became like family. If I requested a particular carpenter for a particular job- he was sent. If they got behind the schedule , they would work on weekends and evenings to catch up. Mike is great and supervises every small thing. I would really like to thank them all. I especially would like to thank Jesse for all the extra little things he did to make my "life in construction" more comfortable. Reading this , it sounds like they paid me - but I definitely paid them:-) I still call if I think something is "funky" and they are over here  right a way to take a look. The completed  house is more beautiful than what I imagined and everyone seems to have taken great pride in their work. I would never use anyone else.

    Custom Concepts
Isaac Low and his team at Custom Concepts exceeded our expectations! Prior to hiring Custom Concepts, we asked another local contractor to look at our planned 2nd story addition and remodel project. Fortunately, for us, he did not feel comfortable tackling what ended up being a very difficult job. It involved tearing off our roof and living room ceiling, adding a second floor to include a full atrium, master bedroom (with a balcony and walk-in closets), master bathroom, dressing room, laundry room, and office - all this while we still occupied the house. Moving out during construction was not an option and the complex scope of the work did not deter Isaac, who appeared very enthusiastic and up for the challenge when we proposed it to him. The Custom Concepts team are very reliable, skilled, friendly, professional, and always promptly returned our calls and texts. They are great with children (one of our sons has special needs and just adores Isaac, who kindly helped put him on the school bus several mornings) and pets (making sure the dog doesn't get out), which was important as my family shared the same space with them every day for several months. Not to mention, the finish carpentry is top notch and whenever we needed guidance and creative input on function or design, Isaac and his team always had a solution. All in all, we are very pleased with the work Custom Concepts did and it was a pleasure getting to know their personable, hardworking, and talented team. We will definitely be hiring Custom Concepts again for our next home improvement project.
