    Safe Fire Chimney Service
Paul was great! Worked around my schedule and was thorough and cleaned up after. He gave me a run down of the chimney and what to look for - as well a tips for the first fire (we just moved into a home where the fireplace hadnt been used for a while). I will absolutely be using Paul again for our annual chimney sweep

    Atlantic Chimney Inc
Atlantic Chimney, Inc. is a class act, extremely professional business. For starters, Bill came over to give me a free estimate - he looked carefully, explained things clearly and was no pressure. A few days later he gave me a price, with everything clearly stated in writing, including pictures and details of the work they would be doing and materials they would be using. For starters, the price was significantly less than other companies I had contacted. But beyond price, this was to do the work correctly and safely, and not cutting corners. I had other companies that didn't want to use an insulated liner, didn't want to deal with a permit, didn't want to put in a block off plate, took forever to respond and required me calling multiple times to get any word, etc. (and these companies charged more!). I asked Bill about pulling a permit and he told me Atlantic could pull it and gave me a price for that (which was reasonable and again cheaper than other companies), or I could go to the permit office with permission and paperwork from Atlantic to pull the permit on Atlantic's behalf, thus saving a little money by me going into the permit devision, but the permit would still in Atlantic Chimney's name. This is significant, as I had other companies either not want to deal with a permit at all or tell me to pull it in my name, which at the permit division in Boston they advised me against, explaining that if the permit was in my name and anything went wrong I would have no recourse. With Atlantic, they were in complete support of pulling a permit because they do the work the right way and up to code (now why would those other companies be nervous about pulling a permit?). I agreed to move forward with the work, and Atlantic quickly sent me all the signed documents I needed in order to pull the permit. The women in Atlantic's office who helped with the permit, with scheduling, and answered about a million questions I had, were all extremely helpful and quick to respond to me (again, a class act!). On the day of the install, the team showed up with four guys. They were on time, and even called the day before to confirm. The first thing they did was roll out a big cloth runner from my front door all the way to my fireplace, so they would never even step on my floor nor make any mess. They covered the fireplace with a big tarp and got to work. They first swept the chimney, then installed the liner, then attached my wood stove. They guys were super friendly, and didn't mind me watching and asking questions. When they came up against a challenge in the install they explained it to me and explained my options, they worked hard to resolve the issue and they did. They cleaned everything carefully and went on their way after the six or so hour job. Once again, class act! I can't recommend Atlantic Chimney highly enough - professional, prompt, excellent work, great price, nice people!

Technician inspected chimney and discovered it was clean, no work was needed. Verified duct work going to chimney was in good shape, made a few other suggestions. Charged me a nominal fee for the inspection, much less than the amount I had agreed to pay for the work. Would definitely call this firm again for similar type work.

It went great! The 2 workers were on time, friendly, knowledgeable and kept the surroundings clean! They answered all our questions and gave us advice. We used them before to inspect our chimney and they were fantastic. We would absolutely use them again and recommend them!

    SuperiorAir Duct Cleaning
It took four weeks for me to get the guys to the house, and then they showed up at the end of the day, clearly ready to be done for the day. Two guys got out of the truck and brought some materials, including a ladder to the house. The guy put up the ladder and felt that he needed a longer ladder. He went back to get the longer ladder, but the guy who was sitting in the truck the whole time told him to come tell me that it would be another $100 to take the ladder off the truck. I declined. They packed up and left. They did no pre-analysis of what was going on. The price they charged me on the Angie's "Deal" was very low, probably too low for this type of service. I should have been suspicious. Even with the additional $100, it was a lot less than what I ended up paying, but I didn't like the "bait and switch" feel to the whole thing. If they actually looked at the job and told me that because we had a bird in the vent it was going to cost more...even a lot more, I might have reacted differently, but a hundred bucks to take the ladder off the truck. I have to wonder. I should say that when I finally got in touch with the company, they were perfectly courteous. When they got behind on the day of the appointment, they called to say they would be late (in hopes that I'd say, "forget it" I think). All that was fine, but what happened when they arrived was not fine. I think it probably had to do with the time of day (4:30PM) and the fact that the two guys who got out of the truck were obviously tired.

Great service. Answered all of my questions and didn't try to take advantage of my lack of knowledge with chimneys. Chimney looks good and didn't need a sweep or any work. Chimney cap was put on and I didn't need to be home. Came home from work and the cap was on. Highly recommend them.

    Boston's Best Chimney
They arrived within the scheduled window and got right to work. They were very professional and efficient. They cleaned the obstruction, installed the liner, and replaced the cap, all within a reasonable amount of time and with little disruption to house activities. They cleaned up very well, leaving no mess behind.

    5 Star Ventilation
I just had some work done by 5 Star Chimney Sweep. They were prompt, professional and extremely neat which is a plus. They covered my stairs into my basement and wore little booties on their feet as they entered my home. I was extremely satisfied with every aspect of their services. Job well done!

North American Chimney & Gutter Corp
They cleaned the chimney flue and found that the flue that provides exhaust to gas furnace and water heater was in very bad shape -falling apart as they tried to clean it. So.... small job turned into a big expensive job. But they did wonderful work and I am grateful for what they did.

Line Pipe & Chimney Svc LLC
Salesman called and said they have an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau, and we made an appointment. Afterwards, I found out that they are actually not listed with BBB at all. I called back and asked about it, and the person answering the phone said "our application to BBB is pending". If it's pending, how do they know whether they will get an A+ rating? I cancelled our appointment. Why should I trust a provider who tells lies to get my business?
