    The Red Checkered Apron
Sue is a consummate professional and a truly kind person. To give some background here, I LOVE hosting parties and enjoy everything from planning to cooking to welcoming people into my home. At my mother's urging, I hired Sue for the first time to help with the actual set-up and running of a smallish (50 person) backyard BBQ housewarming. From our first contact, Sue was warm and reassuring and just oozed competence.

On the day of the party, she showed up right on time and after only a brief moment of instruction, immediately started creating beautiful meat and cheese platters, plating salads and side dishes and warming appetizers. As our guests began arriving, she stayed on top of the whole party and for the first time ever, I enjoyed my guests fully. The food was always stocked, the drinks never ran out and the kitchen was spotless and the food put away neatly in storage containers at the end of the party.

I would wholeheartedly recommend using Sue's services for your next party. She is incredible! Please PM me if you'd like more information or just HIRE HER!

    Everything went perfectly!

The catering event for my sons high school graduation was excellent and John and his team delivered exactly what they committed to.  The Tex's BBQ Staff showed up early enough for set up and grilling of all food on site.  My family & guest's were very pleased with the quality and service provided.

They took care of all the details (condiments, utensils, napkins, etc) and also took care of the clean up of any of their remaining items.

I highly recommend Tex's BBQ Express and will be doing business with them again in the very near future.

    The Pig Kahuna
First: very responsive. I contacted them only 3 weeks before the party; because they need 2 weeks to order the pig (special farm in the midwest that meets their quality and humane treatment standards) we had to work quickly to figure out if this could work. Dave did extra research to help me figure out if my tiny driveway would be big enough to park the pig roaster. They decided they had a special roaster that could work -- I was so happy they were so accommodating. Dave put me in contact with his local partner Tony who would be the one to cater the pig roast.
Boston weather at the end of March can be really horrible, but they assured me they could work through any weather.
Day of the event, Tony shows up exactly on time, with all the supplies, sets up the pig and gets roasting. His professional but laid-back demeaner made me comfortable that it would all work out well.
The pig roast was a huge success. Guests took photos of themselves with the pig, Tony was super friendly and people had a great time talking to him and watching the process. The pig was ready exactly on time, and Tony worked the crowd well, convincing my husband (the man-of-honor; it was his 50th birthday party) to make a show of dramatically chopping the head off the pig (I know, it's a bit graphic, but this is what you get when you sign on for a full-pig roast!). The pork was amazing, the sides (beans and caesar salad) were very good. Everyone had a great time, and the guests agreed that having the on-site pig roast was a really fun and memorable part of the party.  More than just food, also entertainment.
I highly recommend this service, total cost was less than $20 per guest for pig, beans, and salad (I ordered for 50 people, but had 70 show up; Tony brought a larger pig, at no additional cost, just in case we needed it -- thank you!). It was easy, memorable, and fun.
Note: I believe the owner Dave is based in Maine, and his partner Tony is in Rhode Island. Together they can cover a large area of New England, so check out their website to see if your location is included.  You do need a driveway or some area to park the roaster, which comes on a trailer attachment. But as I mentioned, they are willing to accommodate different spaces.

The Chateau Italian Family Dining - Catering
I have been going there since I was ten years old. The food is pretty consistent although it has declined a little bit in my opinion. I still love it though. Take out can be a challenge because sometimes they get the orders wrong when they are busy. Make sure to check your order before you leave. Eating there is like eating at a relative's house.

I contacted Maureen on the recommendation of a friend, who had used her services on several occasions in the past.  Maureen got back to me very quickly and was able to squeeze us into her schedule without much lead time.  Her menus were creative and fun, the preparation flawless, and the service excellent.  Everyone enjoyed the food and the ambience, and I would definitely use her again.

    Chef on Call
I touched great insights in terms of making decisions about not only designing a menu but also enlisting other support activities from folks in the area. They were able to do it pretty quickly and they were easy to work with. I would consider using them again in the future.

    Depot Square Grille & Catering
I hosted a birthday "cocktail" party for a dear friend. I called Celine 2 days prior to the party. We discussed what were the best options to serve at the party and she had some very good suggestions. She even supplied the paper goods i.e. plates, glasses, napkins etc. She took my order and assured me it would arrive at 5pm 2 hours prior to the party. She arrived on time. See above for description of food etc. I would highly recommend Celine and plan on using her services again in the future

Paul Spillane was an absolute dream come true as our wedding caterer. My fiance, my parents, and I had a terrible time deciding on a caterer not really knowing much at all about appropratiate costs services and the like. We solicited quotes from three and Ne me quitte pas was a last minute addition based on the other reviews I read on Angies list and their relative proximity to the South Shore location of the reception. Paul came to my parents home to do a tasting for us and completely won my parents over. My fiance and I had already fallen in love with the descriptions of their food but Paul's charm, professionalism, and absolutely breathtaking cuisine sealed the deal for my parents. In the months that followed, Paul displayed an inhuman amount of patience as we hemmed and hawed over the details and generally took forever to get him the information he needed. He was present and masterful when we met to pick out the rentals, met with the tent guys, and continued to switch out menu choices until the last minute. The day of the recption brought 6 hours of sheeting rain and Paul and his staff made us forget the distratous weather by binging sunshiny dispositions and dizzying efficiencies that culminated in a beautiful event. He surpised us with with a special amuse in a gorgeous and novel personalized presentation that had us over the moon. They matched our invitations to the T making for a gorgeously coordinated table setting with menu cards and adorable personalized appetizer vessels that had everyone talking. The staff Paul managed was professional, cheery, and immemesely adaptable under trying circumstances and allowed us to enjoy every moment of our special day. People are still talking about the food and how fantatsic it all was. We couldn't be happier with Paul or the rest of the Ne me quitte pas family and can't wait until we have the occasion to hire them again.

    A J Culinary Catering
I regret using A.J. culinary for my wedding. They seemed good to work with at first, and I have no complaints about the food, but they added a great deal of unnecessary stress to the days leading up to the wedding. A.J. called a couple weeks before the wedding to say he wouldn't be at my wedding. He would send someone else in his place because he was going to be at the wedding of someone else who had booked him after I had. I debated dropping him and losing the deposit and just serving pizza. Then a few days later, he told me that he would still be preparing the food back in his kitchen, and he would send staff to do the preparation that needed to happen on site. I was OK with that though still very unhappy about the way it had been communicated to me. The paperwork we had from A.J. listed a date by which we were supposed to have an estimate for the cost of the catering. After that date, I began calling to ask for the estimate. A.J. was difficult to reach, and kept saying that he didn't have the estimate yet. Two days before the wedding he was still telling me he couldn't give me an estimate yet. He would tell me to refer to the materials listing costs for their services in general or tell me that he couldn't give me an exact cost because sometimes things change at the wedding. When I still didn't have the estimate 2 days before the wedding, I finally spoke harshly to him on the phone. The payment was due at the wedding, and I didn't want to be discussing the payment with him during the reception. He responded after that. At the wedding, things for the most part were fine. They got my name wrong on the center pieces though. Also, we were taking family pictures before the ceremony and it was really hot out so my cousin asked one of the servers for water for our grandmother, and the server at first said no because they didn't have extra glasses. (I'm not sure exactly how that was resolved, but I did see a glass of water in Nana's hand.) In hindsight, it would have been better to go with the pizza.
