was extremely professional from start to finish.

gave me a very detailed estimate of the work to be perfomed and spent a great deal of time explaining why, where and how things would be done.
He and his crew were on time both days and finished in less time than was expected. They were respectful and professional. I couldn't have asked for a better contractor.

"The provider came to my basement to smell my basement and said I needed Dehumidifier‎. that was it. He did not want to hear about my problems he was in a hurry after being late 15-20. He wanted to go upstair sit and tell me about the $4000.00 Dehumidifier‎ and how i was going to get 20% off and what a great deal it was. He did not car or did not even look at nothing around my basement. I would not and will not recomment this company to anyone. They are into sales, nothing else. Thank god I paid only 49.00. Which was a waste of even that amount.

"I asked to have my basement waterproofed due to flooding. After quoting a price of $5800.00 he asked for a deposit. I asked for his credentials, license, insurance, etc. and he never responded to my request. I would ask for more specifics about the process of waterproofing the basement and he would send me to the website. There he list 3 or 4 things in very vague terms. I wrote him several times and it would take him more than a week to respond. My last email to him was in June of 2013 asking again for his credentials. It is now September 2013 and I have not heard from him. He was quick to contact me and ask me for a 20% deposit.
He was obviously only interested in selling his product. I have since then done some further research and discerned that his process would have been a waste of money. When I asked about attacking the problem from the exterior he was insistent that that approach was not necessary. The work on the exterior was indeed the correct approach and I am no longer have several inches of water flooding my basement. I have since that time found someone else to do the finishing of the interior walls and floor.

"I thought the meeting went very well. After I explained the problem areas in the basement, he made a thorough inspection of the basement inside and then the perimeter of my house. He pointed out places outside that need to be landscaped to prevent the water from pooling."

Man was extremely helpful and informative over the phone and then came to take a look at my place. He spent more than an hour looking things over and ended up advising us not to move forward with any repair work. He said the repairs would be costly, and this years rains were unusually strong. To save us unnecessary repairs he suggested I keep an eye on the water damage and call him if it continued to get worse. A few months later and we are dry as a bone here, but it helps to know I have such a helpful team in my rolodex if anything should happen again."

"They were the most unprofessional company I have ever seen. They tore down important joists (which we had to have repaired). They made holes in the walls in which more water came in. They never finished the job according to the contract. They did an illegal tie-in to the sewer. I had to take them to court to get my money back, and I did. They are crooks who keep changing their name and phone numbers. Do not use these people!"

from pioneer was punctual, friendly, and knowledgeable. He shared a lot of expertise with me, and gave good objective advice--without giving me a hard sell for things I don't need. For example, one option the company offers is a sump pump and ''french drain'' system which drains the water and pumps it away from the house. Mr.

told me that these systems are excellent for people who have a lot of water--like an inch or more in big sections of the basement. But for my problem, which is just a little dampness in the floor, it would probably be useless. We also discussed the possibility of a commercial-grade dehumidifier which the company sells and installs for around $2000. This humidifier would have twice the drying power of my current model from home depot, it would also filter dust and mold spores. I decided for now to keep my current system and try to run it more consistently. If I do decide to buy a more powerful humidifier, I will get it from pioneer.

"I first hired them in 12/03 to correct a bad water leak in my basement. After tearing apart my home 3 more times, the problem is still awful. I cannot use my basement for anything, and now they say that I do not have a warranty. I have hired an attorney, and I am going to

them. This has been an overall awful experience."

After reading some great reviews, I decided to give

listened to my concerns about what I'm seeing, and offered an inexpensive, potential solution for my problem.
No trip-charge, no-cost for diagnostics, just some good ol' free advice.
For now, I'll try what he recommends. Rest assured, based on his honest and patient feedback,

"These guys are incredibly hard-sell. They know every trick in the book. It all starts with prices that are marked up too much and then quickly moves to discounts to make it feel like you're getting a deal. They want you to sign the paperwork right away, which I had told them upfront was not happening since I was going to get multiple competitive quotes.
Even after their discounting, the price on their "proprietary" dehumidifier is still well beyond its value. From everything I can tell, their products are just private-label versions of the major manufacturers items available online. I found the exact same dehumidifier (based on detailed review of specs) online from another vendor for substantially less than Basement Technologies quoted it for me.
Now, they don't leave me alone. I have asked to be taken off their call lists, but they still keep calling.
I can't speak to quality since I didn't use them, and never would.
