    Elements Massage Timonium
The entry/waiting area was large, bright, and clean. Water, coffee, and tea were available, The reception staff was pleasant and knowledgeable. Each appointment started with a conversation with the therapist about my reason for coming, my areas of concern, and my preferences. Then I was left alone to remove my clothes and get onto the warmed table under a sheet and blanket. (You can leave on your bra and/or panties, if you wish.) The room was dimly lit and relaxing music was playing. Every aspect of the room was extremely clean. For the most part the therapist did not initiate any conversation other than to ask a few times if the pressure was right. However, when I asked a question or made a comment, the therapists were all quite personable. I liked that I could talk if I wanted or have silence. Each therapist had a little different style, but all were responsive to whatever I said or asked for. Constance even did a bit of Reiki (energy work) for me. After the allotted time, I was left to relax for a bit and then get dressed. Each time, when I opened the therapy room door to exit, the therapist was there with a bottle of cold water for me. In general, all of the masseuses were professionals with certified training and obvious experience. All therapists gave real massages using bonafide techniques. These were not salon or mall quality massages. They were true massages by trained professionals. Hot rocks and scented oils were also available duirng massages. I had one of each. They added only about $10 or less to the price and were both very soothing. Elements of Timonium is an individually owned franchise and is not related to the other Elements in the area. They offer a club whereby a certain amount of money is deducted from your bank or credit card each month. For that price, you get a reduced price massage. If you get more than one massage a month. the price goes down by $10 an hour until it hits their minimum. (Sorry. I cant remember the amounts. I think the club is $79/month, which means your first massage is paid for by that $79.) If you don't use the massage in a given month, you can get that massage in a different month. The club is a great deal for anyone who would like a monthly massage or more. Given a regular massage is $99/hour, $79 is a great deal. Plus they have other specials for members, like discounted gift cards.

    THE YOGA CENTER OF COLUMBIA
Sharon is a really good massage therapist, specializing in a number of different types of massage therapy. Because I've gone to her a number of times for different therapies, often she incorporates different aspects of those therapies into my massage. One time I asked how a aroma therapy enhanced massage would be different from what I got. She said it wouldn't have been, because she had thrown that in for free. Her e-mail list often has great promotions for services. My only complaint is that, while the room itself is conducive to the massage, there are yoga classes going on a the same time. While one doesn't hear the yoga classes, when they are over, one can hear the people talking in the halls for a few minutes. Not the worst thing, but a knock against the environment and the experience as a whole. I highly recommend her reflexology.

    Stephanie Haddock, Licensed Massage Therapist
She is on her own. It should have been $105 but I got a discount because it was my birthday month. It is not a walk in, you have to make an appointment.

    Sabatiuk, Pamela E.
I see Pam on a regular basis. The deep tissue treatment really helps with the pain and increases my flexibility. Pam always asks how I am doing and if there are areas in need of special attention at the beginning of the session. She also asks how I am doing during the session and if I feel the pressure she is exerting is too much or not enough. She is very flexible on scheduling appointments, and is always willing to reschedule if I'm ill or some emergency comes up. I've been to several different massage therapists over the years, and Pam is the best. She's consistent, friendly and a skilled professional.

    Sole Zones LLC
I VISITED THE CENTER, WHICH WAS IN A VERY NICE SUITE IN AN OFFICE BUILDING IN DOWNTOWN COLUMBIA, MD. I MET THE OWNER WHO TOOK ME INTO A ROOM AND PUT ME IN A VERY COMFORTABLE CHAIR AND PUT MY FEET IN AN IONIZING BATH. LATER MY FEET WERE CLEANED AND DRIED AND THE REFLEXOLOGY TREATMENT BEGAN. IT WAS SURPRISINGLY COMFORTABLE AND RELAXING. AS DIFFERENT PARTS OF MY FEET WERE MASSAGED I BECAME MORE AND MORE RELAXED. IT WAS A VERY GOOD EXPERIENCE. I SCHEDULED ANOTHER APPOINTMENT FOR A MASSAGE THAT WAS EQUALLY AS NICE. I HAVE SCHEDULED ANOTHER APPOINTMENT, BUT THEY ARE BECOMING SO POPULAR I HAD TO SCHEDULE FAR IN ADVANCE.

    Relax & Renew
The office is in a residential section of Parkville, and although the business is located in the basement of a private home, there is a private entrance to the studio.  The office is nicely decorated, and offers a comfortable, homey feel.  Nancy has created a calm and soothing environment in the massage room using low lighting, electric candles, and wonderful background music.  The massage table is heated, and is always warm and inviting.  Occasionally there has been noise from the neighborhood, or from the homeowner's above, but not enough to disrupt the benefits of the experience.  This is the only reason for the "B" in the "Office Environment" category.   On my first visit, Nancy asked me to complete some paperwork to assist her in determining the best techniques for my needs.  Me moved to the massage room, where we discussed past experiences with massage, current issues, and long term goals.    Nancy then instructed me how we would proceed, and left while I prepared for the massage.  After making sure I was prepared and comfortable, Nancy returned and adjusted the temperature in the room, making sure to warm her hands before starting.  Using a soothing tone of voice, she communicated each step of the massage, always letting me know what she was going to do next.  She also checked with me to see if she should use more or less pressure, and to indicate that there was a particular area where she wanted to focus.  My first massage with Laura was very much the same.  We discussed my target areas, and Laura focused on them.    Laura is exceptional at finding sore spots and concentrating her gentle but persistent technique to maintain pressure to ease out knots and sooth away tension. Both Nancy and Laura are very skilled at draping a client (wrapping the bedding around the client's body in such a way as to allow access to necessary areas of the body while otherwise keeping the client covered.  This helps folks to relax during a massage session by keeping them warm and, more importantly, allying any anxiety of feeling naked or exposed.  It is a very important skill, and something that not all massage therapists do well! Overall, Nancy and Laura offer excellent services in a splendid setting at exceptional prices!  I highly recommend them!

    New Day Mobile Spa
I am able to schedule massage therapy after work.  The therapist arrived on time, unloaded a massage table, clean sheets, and all the accoutrements of a spa.  She set up in about five minutes and then discussed the type of massage I was interested in and made sure I didn't have any medical condition that would preclude treatment.  During the massage I was constantly asked about pressure, comfort, etc.  I was told when I was going to be stretched or have range of motion exercises.  It was a very good massage.  At the end she packed everything into her trunk, thanked me, advised me to drink plenty of water, relax, and took off.  OIt was a very good experience.

The massage was wonderful. I felt the effects for weeks afterwards. I had never felt the effects of a massage for such a long period for massages from other providers.
