Baltimore Landscapers Reviews

"It went well.
Baltimore Landscapers Provider Name Locked
is always on time and prepared for our appointments.
Within 24 hours
Baltimore Landscapers Provider Name Locked
sent me photos of plants to be considered for the project.
She will contact me when her proposal is ready.
Baltimore Landscapers Provider Name Locked
has been instrumental in the major long term changes to the landscape around our house.
We were able to make changes gradually and in stages to accommodate our finances.
She has helped with drainage issues, hardscape, trees, shrubs, perennials and annuals.
She is always open to our thoughts and willing to entertain and research new ideas.

"I was not really satisfied and I regret using this deal. I wanted some better shrubs at the front of the house. I chose the best of what he had available, but I don't think any of the options were really right to go on either side of the front door. They really never looked good and they have never been healthy. He said he was interested in getting rid of some inventory. I, on the other hand, was interested in improving the appearance of my yard. There was an upcharge for the plants.
The plants I had put on the side of the house did better. I asked that they leave me a couple of trash cans of compost material. They left some really large branches, over 1" in diameter and some dirt. This means they don't know about composting, which is surprising for gardeners. I still have the can full of dirt in the middle of the yard because it is too heavy to move.
These guys are true professionals, and do amazing work!
If you're looking to have hardscaping work performed, then these are your guys!
The owner was a super nice guy, and came out the same day I called, and gave me a firm fixed price. The gentleman that constructed the wall told me he has been doing hardscape work for over twenty-five years, and it shows!
I highly recommend this company!!!
"They arrived on time. I explained the work. Some bushes were trimmed back much too far, others not enough. Didn't seem to be consistent. I had to leave for a short time (30 minutes). When I got back, they were gone. I'm not sure how long they were gone, but my clock was ticking. The owner explained that there might be a haul away charge, up front. I said that was fine. All debris was cleared away. My downspout extension got knocked loose and I had to put it back. Not a big deal but it seems like something that would be looked after, once someone got done weeding in that area.
"Acer's two workers arrived exactly on time. In addition to cleanup of leaves, we required removal of overgrowth/weeds in the the back yard. All requested work was performed more efficiently than expected such that they were done in less than the 4 hour time purchased.
Baltimore Landscapers Provider Name Locked
was friendly and made sure they had taken care of all items. Would definitely use Acer again.
"After a month of waiting for my landscape design plan the company sent me an email. I was told that there had been a series of unfortunate circumstances with personnel within the company and that I could wait for my design or ask for a refund. At that point I decided to wait for my designs. About a month later I still had not received designs so I contacted the company and this time requested a refund. They sent the refund check, but it wasn't signed so I had to send it back. The owner was apologetic and I did eventually receive a signed check in the mail. Since I did not actually receive the service I really couldn't rate the quality of the work.
"Have used
Baltimore Landscapers Provider Name Locked
and his crew several times now and have each time found him to be professional, knowledgeable and reliable. We now rely on him to do major fall and spring clean ups and to periodically maintain our property during the growing season. He has good knowledge of plants and how they should be maintained. Fair pricing.
"This review is for the estimate portion of our work, not the landscaping job itself (we went with another company for that and were very pleased).
I contacted
Baltimore Landscapers Provider Name Locked
about coming out for an estimate on our property on October 24th, 2013. We had recently bought a new home, and the yards had been heavily neglected by the previous owners - the yard needed a complete overhaul, and we also wanted to put in a flagstone patio. Although we were not the most expensive job on the block, it was a big investment for us that I would think would be worthy of time and attention (at least $5,000.00 said and done).
Baltimore Landscapers Provider Name Locked
responded quickly and we set up an estimate for the following Sunday, the 27th. His initial response was quite speedy, and I was excited to meet him.
Baltimore Landscapers Provider Name Locked
came that Sunday (as promised) to perform the estimate. He was on time, and it went downhill fast from there. Having already had several estimates done on the property, I had a good idea of what we wanted, which he seemed to take into consideration (however dismissively). However, several red flags came up during the appointment.
Baltimore Landscapers Provider Name Locked
openly criticized our fence - which my husband and I are in the process of doing ourselves. Now, I understand we are not master carpenters, and
Baltimore Landscapers Provider Name Locked
has done many many more fences than us, but it concerned me that he seemed put-off by our "from scratch" approach and suggested we use the cheapo panels from a big box store instead - as he said " it "would be faster and cheaper." He also asked why we sunk the posts 3-4 feet instead of two - when I explained we were concerned about frost heaving and wanted to make sure our work lasted, he again noted that it would have been faster and cheaper to do only two feet. I don't know about you, but while "fast and cheap" are nice, "quality and longevity" are better.
Baltimore Landscapers Provider Name Locked
advocated that we cut down the
Baltimore Landscapers Provider Name Locked
in the backyard so that we could have open grass. Now, I understand the suggestion - the
Baltimore Landscapers Provider Name Locked
is over 100 years old, and it is huge - it makes a massive mess of leaves and things are hard to grow under it sometimes. However, I quickly let
Baltimore Landscapers Provider Name Locked
know that the
Baltimore Landscapers Provider Name Locked
is my favorite part of the yard, and that part of the reason we bought the house was for this tree - she's a challenge, but she's unspeakably gorgeous when in bloom and I would never chop her down. Despite me immediately noting that cutting down the
Baltimore Landscapers Provider Name Locked
was not an option,
Baltimore Landscapers Provider Name Locked
continued to push, noting how much easier it would be to landscape without the restrictions of the tree, etc.
Baltimore Landscapers Provider Name Locked
seemed very unwilling to try and get to us in this season (confirmed by number four, below). He noted that even once he got a plan, it would be at least a month before he could do anything at all, and then it would be cold enough that we should wait until next season. Now, I understand there are proper planting times, but other landscapers had tried their best to make this season work, knowing we didn't want to wait until spring to fix the
Baltimore Landscapers Provider Name Locked
wasteland of the backyard. Even those that couldn't do the plantings had said they could at least do the patio/hardscaping elements.
Baltimore Landscapers Provider Name Locked
offered nothing except "next season."
Fourth and finally, as of today's review, I still have NO ESTIMATE. It has been nearly three weeks, and I haven't heard a peep from
Baltimore Landscapers Provider Name Locked
, despite him promising to have me something in a few days. If he didn't want the job, he could have at least told us something so we knew - the lack of response delayed our choosing a different provider, and although we ultimately got everything worked out, I am surprised that
Baltimore Landscapers Provider Name Locked
couldn't even put in the effort to do an estimate. I hate leaving bad reviews (and rarely do at all), but I would not use this provider, and I would not recommend his company.

"A wonderful experience. Nick was prompt in scheduling the work, and the crew was efficient and hard working. After the initial work, (10 man hours Angie's deal) we asked them back to mulch the beds and create a new one, as well as deliver 2 cords of firewood. The mulching they did went beyond our expectations, with meticulous attention to detail. We have found a landscaper to take care of our property in the future.
Baltimore Landscapers Provider Name Locked
contacted us promptly and arranged a date to look at our landscaping and make recommendations for planning the shrubs that were contracted for under the Angie's List deal. Nick arrived looking professional and was clearly very knowledgeable about appropriate plantings in the varying light conditions on our property (Bright sun to full shade). We paid an extra $100 to cover additional labor and mulch for the new garden bed we created - this was still an excellent value and good deal. The work was performed within a week of the original appraisal of our property. All of the work was performed as promised with healthy thriving plants and quality mulch. Very satisfied and would recommend Acer Landscape services to anyone.
