General Contracting reviews in Baltimore

Real People ~ Real Reviews ~ Real Results

  • we've been nervous about sitting out on our front porch swing because it was clear that some of the porch wood was rotting.  We had a horrible experience with another contractor in Baltimore (7 months to do a job that was estimated to take 4 weeks and then never finished).  So we were hesitant to go with another contractor.  Finally we decided to give in and asked for recommendations from neighbors.  Provider name locked. came highly recommended so I called him to swing by and give an estimate on a Monday.  We got the quote on Monday evening and he was able to start the job that Thursday.  He worked along-side with his crew and they whole thing was done on Friday in time for us to enjoy our porch swing by the weekend.  He was very honest and even suggested we do a few "easy" steps ourselves to save money.  We will definitely be going with Provider name locked. again for any future indoor/outdoor home projects in Baltimore.

  • He was very nice, but difficult when it came to working with my insurance company. The insurance company that I am working with gave me a dollar amount and wanted me to stay within. He said he put in the invoice with the insurance company, but I contacted them and they said they never received an itemized receipt. The insurance company did not want to start work without that itemized receipt. Also charged for wood remediation (drying out of the wood) but it wouldn't be necessary because the wood is already dried out.

  • The post installation blower door test showed worsening in home ir sealing. Unfortunately, Mr. Provider name locked.  failed to fulfill the obligation stated in the contract and meet the minimum standards required by the BGE program.

    A formal BGE audit and QC of the work was done and specifically, the following gross deficiencies in the work were identified following completion of the work:

      <Provider name locked. >

      Knee wall not treated as program requires or contract specified

      Provider name locked. > <Provider name locked. >

      Attic hatches not gasketed

      Provider name locked. > <Provider name locked. >

      Air sealing does not meet rebate requirements

      Provider name locked. > <Provider name locked. >

      Bath fan ducting does not meet minimal industry installation standards

      Provider name locked. > <Provider name locked. >

      Combustion appliance safety does not meet program requirements.

      Provider name locked. >

    In addition, we learned after the fact that at the time the work was done, Mr. Provider name locked. was under suspension of participating in the BGE program and following the audit of the work done at our property, he was expelled from the program. To date he has failed to provide any explanation for the shoddy work or refund.
