I have used this company before and had great results. Jodi and her guys did a wonderful job building a new pergola, painted it ( well, stained it), and made a new landscape bed from stone. They mulched it and added drip to the irrigation so its all ready for plants. They added an outlet to the back patio as well, which is now convenient. Will keep using them.

Jodi, the owner and operator of Morningstar Landscaping, has been great to work with.  She is very enthusiastic and she loves what she does.  And she employs great people, such as a masonry staff and an irrigation installer that are all excellent at what they do.
We were doing a big project that involved improving the entire look of our front yard, from the curb right up to the front door, with hardscaping and landscaping plus irrigation.  Jodi works with all of these things and it was hugely beneficial that she simultaneously oversaw all of those things because they are best done in coordination with each other: now our hardscaping works with our landscaping and the driveway matches the patio and the irrigation delivers water where the new plants and trees are, etc... everything works and fits together.  And Jodi is great at what she does.
Jodi has a passion for plants and she crafted a really cool shade garden for us on one side and a sun garden with gravel on the other side.  We also installed a lot of new, fairly large trees.
The masons that work for Morningstar were always very careful with drainage for our new patio and new driveway, ensuring that water won't drain towards the house or into the garage.  And since our recent heavy rainfall I can vouch for the effectiveness of the drainage: the garage and facade of the house all stayed dry.
When I hired Morningstar I gave them a sketch of what I envisioned the front yard could look like.  We discussed it at length and they suggested many improvements that I hadn't thought of.  And in the end I wound up with exactly what I wanted; it's remarkable to look outside and see my hopes have been realized for our yard.
Jodi was always very responsive by phone and text message and email.  She has also followed up repeatedly after the installation was complete to check on the health of the plants and generally to make sure everything (like irrigation) was working.  And furthermore she's just fun to work and chat with.  It really has been a pleasure working with Morningstar and I highly recommend them.

It is rare for me to be truly impressed by a service provider. I am typically satisfied if someone just does the job they promise to do, because I have dealt with many different providers who over promise and under-deliver. But Jodi and the rest of the Morningstar Landscaping crew were truly impressive.
Our backyard had a steep slope that was completely unusable and provided nothing but weeds and a breeding ground for mosquitoes. I had dreamed of changing that slope into a usable tiered patio space and garden beds so I started contacting companies.
I first spoke with Jodi a few months ago to schedule a consultation and she asked me enough questions over the phone to get an idea of what I wanted before she even arrived at the house for the initial consultation. She remembered what I told her over the phone and asked more questions and truly discussed our goals for the spaces so that she and I were on the same page before any bids were provided or work planned. She listened when I told her our budget constraints and worked with us to determine the best materials and design to be able to stay within our budget, setting realistic expectations for the project.  She didn't try to upsell or push materials that she knew would be out of our budget.
She sent a bid that accurately reflected our conversations and the work to be performed. Jodi told me that the work would take approximately 2 weeks due to the difficult nature of  slope and the difficulty of accessing our backyard. This made complete sense because to get to our backyard, you first have to climb down a set of stairs which meant the materials would have to hand-carried down.
Initial work on the project was delayed due to the heavy rains we had this spring, and Jodi communicated with me throughout to let me know when the project could realistically begin. Given the slope of the backyard, it would have been unsafe to work when the ground was drenched. I appreciated her communication, and her attention to safety regarding the project. It made me feel secure that the retaining wall they would install would truly be sturdy and secure.
Once work began, I paid attention to the crew's efforts and could see just how hard and diligently they worked. I'm not an expert in stone work or masonry and irrigation, but I could observe the care taken by the crew to make sure all was level and functioning appropriately throughout the process. Whenever I had questions about a specific aspect of the build, the foreman or one of the crew members would take the time to explain what was going on.
When all was done, Morningstar Landscaping had provided us with a patio, hardscaping, landscaping, irrigation, stone and gravel, & masonry services for both our back yard and side yard. They built a retaining wall and patio space with landscape beds and fixed the pre-existing failing and inefficient irrigation lines feeding the beds with water-wise drip lines. They also repaired and rebuilt a stone staircase and fixed drainage that had previously been poorly made by a different provider.
We now have a beautiful multilevel patio and landscape space, with safe and beautiful stone steps. I had dreamed of getting the backyard to look like a beautiful provencal style walking garden and now I have one. We now have enough space for entertaining and taking full advantage of our yard.
And Jodi over-delivered on her promise by sending extra crew to the project to make up for some of the time lost to the rains and the work was completed in a little over 1 week instead of 2. I am truly impressed and plan to hire them again when I want to get any other part of the yard redone.

Jodi is very energetic, responsive and had great ideas. The crew worked hard, quickly, and did quality work. There were a couple very minor things I wanted re-worked and they responded quickly without complaint. Jodi selected beautiful and healthy plants and trees for our project, and even rejected some plants that were delivered that didn't meet her standards. Everything they did looks great, and I'm very happy with the end result.

    XANADU NURSERY & LANDSCAPING
I was putting in a new pool, so my backyard was totally destroyed by the construction process. But the new pool was beautiful, and I needed beautiful landscaping to complete my new backyard paradise. I solicited 5 landscape companies to provide quotes on my design. All 5 came out and were nice, but in the end I got 3 bids. From the first time I met him, Seth Brown, the owner of Xanadu, distinguished himself as the most responsive, the most "customer-centric" (cared the most about understanding what I wanted), and the most expert in plant materials. The bonus for me was that his proposal was also the most affordable - not by much but enough to make a difference. The best thing about his proposal was that he was totally flexible to change things on the fly, and he never ever pushed to upsell or add more expensive things in. In fact, he was often conscientious about recommending ways to save money. Seth was happy to quote my initial design but as we went along, I turned the design over to him, and he was even kind enough to bring out a designer to document a better design in CAD electronically so we could play around with it. What was super cool about working with Seth was that he spent half a day with my wife and I at the nursery (where he knows everybody) and extremely patient  while working with us to pick out the exact specimens that we wanted. When the job started, those exact plants showed up. He also showed up with some additional items for us to look at and was totally fine with taking those back if they didn't work out.  He even went above and beyond by personally searching for this outrageously beautiful large pindo palm that just "made' the entire pool landscape perfect. The installation was done by his employees and they did everything right to a high level of quality. The stone work was excellent and all plants were installed very professionally. Seth offers a 1 year warranty on all the plants. Seth was always VERY PUNCTUAL. I never felt out of communication or out of touch with the status of the project. It was all very professional. There were never any surprises on project scope or price. We paid 1/3 upfront, 1/3 in the middle and 1/3 at the end. Never any pressure and Seth always made sure we were satisfied. The project turned out beautiful, and my wife and I are 100% satisfied with all aspects of the entire experience. I would not hesitate to hire Seth for a landscaping project, and he comes with my highest recommendation.

    International Greenhouse Company

This company sells landscaping supplies. I ordered a case of garden planters costing over $100 online. The online order went through after I put in all my credit card information.

I had a very time sensitive project requiring the arrival of the pots in a timely manner. After a week a called up the company asking where the pots might be and they told me that the pot order never went through....Evidently it does not matter that I have a confirmation email.

They did not call me or send me an email that the order did not go through or explain why a confirmation email does not confirm  anything....I can only assume that if you have a small order they really don't care about you as a customer. If you have a large order, go ahead and order, you will probably get better service, I know this is a large company.

I called them and left a message to call me and they did not return my call.

Jodi had to conceive a design. Next we worked together on selecting a plant palette. This was a mixture of greenery, flowering plants and shrubs plus a couple of maple trees. She acquired and planted these. Next, she demolished and removed the rubble for an existing patio. Then she redesigned it and installed a new stone patio (about 200 sq ft). She then had a plumber revise the controls for the irrigation system to match plantings and sprinklers. The result is a beautiful new garden that will be easy to maintain!

    THE GREAT OUTDOORS
The employees at Great Outdoors are extremely helpful in picking out plants and knowledgable of the many varieties. They will help you pick out the right plants for you and your environment. And, as a bonus, each plant comes with a guarantee. If it happens to die, they will replace it up to a year... or will help you determine what happened so it does not happen again.

    GEO GROWERS
A friend of mine is a PhD soil scientist, and she recommended Geo Growers when I asked where to buy soil for my vegetable garden. Geo Growers is not the cheapest source for bulk soil, but the overall price including delivery ended up being less than my other top choice. I considered Organics By Gosh, who are similar in price per yard and also highly recommended by many, but they are farther away from my Southwest Austin home and delivery was pricier. I placed my order over the phone; the office staff were professional and helpful. The mini dump truck from Geo Growers arrived right on time, and the driver called 30 minutes ahead to check in as promised. The driver dumped my five cubic yards on the driveway as I requested, and bumped the truck bin to make sure I got the entire volume purchased. He waved to my wide-eyed kids as I paid by check. The soil was well-mixed and had a lovely texture. So far my veggies (in 18" raised beds) are doing well, so the nutrient profile must be pretty good!
