    EMS Home Services
    EMS Home Services is not following through on the completion of recent work performed. Lonnie, one of the owners, replaced the Straiter Valve on Thursday, March 19th, and attempted to refill the unit with freon. He said he was out of freon (although he had about 10 cans of Freon in the back of his truck) and would send a guy on Friday, March 20th, to fill it. Prior to Lonnie leaving on Thursday, he set my inside air so that someone could come to the outside unit and fill it up at their convenience since I was not going to be home. At 8 pm Thursday evening I received an automated call from EMS to schedule my Appt for Friday. I returned the call at 8:05 pm and left a voicemail re-stating that Lonnie set the inside air on and that we agreed, and that I gave permission for a tech to come anytime on Friday, March 20th, to fill my outside unit with freon. I called the company that morning, Friday, March 20th, to confirm that someone would be stopping by to fill up the freon. They said since I didn't answer my phone that morning that they were putting me on the schedule for next week (the week of March 23-27. I told them that Lonnie, the owner. assured me someone would be there today, Friday, the 20th, and that I even responded by voicemail the evening of the 19th, reiterating our plan. They said lots of other people were in line and Id have to wait. I asked if the other people had been waiting since December for their air to be fixed. (Yes, my air has been out since Dec. and this same company has been out 3 times since then) This has been my experience .

    I called Tyrone A/C and Heating on an emergency call during the ALWAYS hot Texas summer. He arrived promptly during weekend hours after five p.m. CT. The unit was leaking into my neighbor's apartment on the first floor. He was able to clear the drain line within twenty minutes. His fast arrival and quick service saved me a costly repair for me and my downstairs neighbor. Thank you Tyrone!

    We needed to replace a 20 year old Trane. I knew the new Trane model that I wanted and got quotes. These guys were "in the pack" for cost and seemed to have a good reputation. (My previous AC guy just retired and sold his company). They came out the same day to provide the quote, took good notes about a few small special things I wanted, and gave a quote that day. The guy was very professional, and no "upsell" BS. I selected them and the next day the crew came out. The install was completed within about 6 hours. The crew was polite and professional, the job was done properly. The paperwork was very complete too. The only error was spilling a little compressor oil on the driveway as they hauled off the old unit. I highly recommend them.

    The Coolest
    After several options, we contacted The Coolest because of neighbor recommendations and some online reviews. Mark (the owner) came to our house to inspect the issue and offered several options for replacement. We liked his professionalism and directness...and he's a cool dude. When we decided to go with a slighter higher efficient system than our current 15 year old AC unit, Mark quickly scheduled an install to fit our schedule. His communication throughout the process was consistently prompt and clear. When James and Avery arrived for the install, they were extremely courteous and professional...and they were also cool dudes. Within that day, they completed the installation and explained some of the new bells and whistles (thermostat, air filter system, maintenance on the outside unit, etc.) So far (after a week), the system seems to work well, and I would recommend The Coolest for anyone's HVAC issues.

    Sherlock Homes A/C (great name!) is absolutely fantastic. Bryan was patient, professional, prompt, and exceptionally competent at diagnosing an odd problem with my AC. After having 2 other techs come out to my house to try to fix my unit, I was told by both that I would need a whole new HVAC setup. At the point where I reached out to Bryan, I was merely trying to get different quotes for new HVAC systems. I filled out some basic information on Angie's List, selected three contractors that I wanted to hear back from, and almost immediately my phone rang with a call from Bryan (I am not kidding, it could not have been more than 90 seconds from my submission online to the time he called me). He started by trying to understand the problem that I was having with my unit and asked me some questions about what the other technicians had told me. After probing through a few questions, he had me check a few things on my unit while he waited patiently on the phone and walked me through some basic steps. From I was describing to him on the phone, he was not convinced that the other technicians had diagnosed the problem correctly. He was located in San Antonio, and I am in South Austin, but he was willing to jump his car and drive the two hours to my house. Right on time, he was at my door, and after troubleshooting a few things he came to the conclusion that the problem was not in fact with my compressor unit as I had been told. Not long after that my AC was blowing cold air again. Bryan saved me literally thousands of dollars by not having to replace a perfectly good AC unit well ahead of its time. I cannot recommend him highly enough, and he will be my FIRST call for any problems with this unit in the future.

    Choice Home Warranty
    The AC tech did all he could do as he found the AC/Heating Unit not a problem; except there was no power. He said it was a electrical problem between the AC/Heating Unit and the Switch box. Since electrical problems at our residence is not covered by our Home warranty we have a electrician coming to our condo today at our expense. We were not happy being subject to the Texas 99 degree heat wo air for 3-hot nights and days waiting for your selection of an AC company for a service call. The AC tech was outstanding.
