  • I've been with them for maybe 20 years. They provide all services including prescriptions. The prescriptions I buy are very, very cheap. They almost cover all of it. I've had hip replaced. I have osteoporosis and I do Prolia every six months. I have a mammogram next Thursday.

  • I deal with dental insurance carriers on a daily basis, as this is part of my job.  I have to say that this company has to be the worst company I have ever had to deal with.  Our dental practice has been in business for over 30 yrs.  We are a well established practice, with great patients and I file at least 20 claims daily.  Every time I file a claim with them for any major work,  they deny it.  We have to go through appeals and letters constantly!  It's so time consuming and frustrating.  Even when we appeal it with narratives and xrays, they still deny it.  The doctor in our practice doesn't do any dental work for his patients that isn't necessary and for them to tell us over and over that the work we did was not in our patients best interest is crazy!  We are getting ready to report them to the State Board of Dental Insurance.  I would not recommend this company to anyone shopping for a dental insurance plan. AWFUL!

  • I used them at a physical therapist. I have regular insurance. Both my doctor and physical therapy accepts Medicare. They provide doctor services and physical therapy. They provide for my diabetes and my regular checkups. They also provide mental services which I am yet to use.  They are efficient and affordable.

  • I used them when I got my medication. I think they cover 80% of my costs. They will pay bills that my other insurance provider does not cover and they provide pharmacy coverage. They are very clear on what they need and the communication is good.

  • They are lousy. They are through my employer. I've used them since 2006 or 2007. I get an annual eye exam every year because I have extremely bad eyesight. The lenses for my eyeglasses are very expensive. They only gave $20 or $25 for the lens and frames. For a $470 pair, I had to pay around $440 for my co-pay. This year they were going to pay even less. In 2012 they paid $100 of a $500 prescription. Nothing had changed and the benefits were the same. Neither the ophthalmologist or myself couldn't get a straight answer out of them. I have no choice but to use them unless I purchase my own insurance individually.

  • I have to go out of network to get the medicine that I need for my thyroid. They reimburse me for it. They have a lot of different plans. My experience with them has been average. They are easy to communicate with. I will continue to use them.

  • They're very good. I'm able to call through a real person when I have questions. However, they no longer provide us the online means to find out our cumulative for the year and we have to call them for that.

  • Setting up medical insurance was fairly easy, spoke with an agent on the phone and she e-mailed me information about my coverage.  Paying monthly premiums is also easy on their website.  Coverage seems acceptable for medical insurance, but dental insurance doesn't cover much more than a couple x-rays and cleanings a year.  I wish they had a more comprehensive dental plan, for which I would be willing to pay a higher premium.
    Aetna also seems to be accepted at a good number of doctors' offices, although not universally.  In any case, it is not hard to find a medical practice that do have accounts with Aetna.

  • They are consistently thorough in their dealings with me. I get routine mailouts as follow up to recent doctor/hospital visits. They are sent on regular basis and break down every charge, who paid what, and what my financial responsibility is. I am very pleased with the job they are doing as my secondary carrier; it is reassuring to know that they know what they are doing.
