    Fiscus Construction
Zero Stars-Construction Scam artist: Brant Fiscus Fiscus Construction 830-310-2709 Austin and San Antonio beware! Most recent and Final update: Of course after the review below Brant reaches out to say that he is going to bring me the money owed on Thursday 7/18 and during our conversation via text and phone we make the suggestion that he send it via Zelle. He asks if he can send $250 Monday and the rest Thursday. Clearly this means he never meant to pay the complete amount off to begin with, but since I felt like there was an honest chance of him issuing the funds we agreed. Brant can't spell my name so his payment doesn't go through. He even sends me pictures trying to say that it is where I point that out, then he goes silent. Resumes the next day saying that his original $350 is locked up and his bank can't release it back. My wife and I have done this several times, but whatever, let's get the other half on Thursday... More lies: Thursday comes and nothing but I'm not worried because now we are in the hospital having the baby. Mind you this is now 5 weeks since he last set foot on my property. The original deposit was written to him on June 6! This is August 20 for those paying attention. Txt him again yesterday, no response, today he says he's sending it later today and after several follow ups, nothing. If you know this person watch your pocketbook, and be aware he's probably scamming you too. If you don't, avoid Fiscus Construction like the plague. I have never seen someone who will take advantage of a pregnant, hard working family at anytime in my life until now. I feel sorry he is apprenticing another kid and teaching him these values. I have legal insurance he can deal with them from now on, the DA will be recontacted on Monday. Since some research already shows this looks like another offense, hopefully there are consequences that keep him from preying on others. Update 1: After posting my review and subsequent update I was contacted via text message and phone by Brandt offering return of my last deposit and promising money order to be dropped on the mail last Wednesday. Today I received a follow up text message asking if I was going to be home Wednesday so he could drop it off! This is a solid week after his original commitment and over 1 month since his last visit to my house. Let's play Jeopardy:When you say you're going to do something and you don't do it it's called? When you take someone's money in exchange for work it's called what? Avoid this company. I've already contacted the District Attorney's office who advised me to give him the chance to repay and let them know if he didn't. Clearly they will have to pursue this matter, as will I will civil court. You can read my yelp review here as well: [*** Link removed ***]

    Sheds and More
The shed crew did an excellent job. They showed up on time and had the shed built in one day, they came back on the following day and finished up. The deck crew showed up later then was expecting. They did a great job on building the deck but was a little sloppy on painting the deck. We had to ask them to clean the paint of the decorative lighting around the deck. Our overall experience was great. If I was scoring them out of a 100, I would give Sheds and More a 95. I do recommend Sheds and More for you next shed or deck project.

The project went exceptionally well! We were happy with the price of the carport, and the crew did excellent work. The carport looks great, and is strong! The project was completed in about three days, and the workers completely cleaned up the area upon the completion of the project.

    QSE Construction & Remodeling LLC
I hired Dennis and Joe after I had to fire my previous contractor in the middle of the job. But from start to finish, they provided an excellent experience! They are very professional and provided clear communication throughout the entire process, making sure I was aware of any potential issues and mitigating any surprises. They also finished the work ahead of schedule. I was able to trust their expertise and it was clear that they took pride in their work. They made sure that everything was done as expected and that they would fix anything that wasn't up to par. If you want true professionals, hire these guys.

Tri-County were very responsive in resolving questions and concerns all along the way. We felt that Sam, Wayne, and Bob Jones, the owner, took a real interest in our project. The other Tri-County personnel who primarily worked on our project were also excellent - Alex and Bruce. We started off with a delay in getting the foundation, cement work accomplished largely due to rainy weather in the fall that delayed progress for weeks, but once that hurtle was crossed, work progressed steadily and Tri-County worked with sub-contractors to keep the schedule moving. We are delighted with the outcome! We have a beautiful kitchen, laundry and garage area. Tri-County suggested a cabinet maker - Daylon McMcCreless who did a great job. Every final detail was completed before they called the job finished.

    Sheds and More
We hired Carl a few years ago to build a patio cover over our concrete slab in the backyard, and he did great, timely work at a very reasonable price. We were so happy with his work that we came back this year to get the patio screened-in. He continued to follow-up with us (despite our late replies), and then once the contract was signed, his team was out and building our screen within 2 weeks. They were even able to accommodate our custom dog door in the patio. Again, great quality work - would definitely recommend!

    Sheds and More
Process went very well. 2 men arrived around 11 AM. They removed the old shed doors and built the new door onsite, painted the doors with paint I had left over from painting the house. They the cleaned up the site. Everything went very well.

    Sheds and More
From start to finish, Sheds and More was an outstanding client experience ! From the initial discussions to the project completion, Carl and William were very professional and kept me informed of all work being done. The work started with just adding me a porch and doing siding work on my back porch. They did such and outstanding job, I had them also do my entire house. Just an amazing transformation ! They also rebuilt my wood structure in front of entry way that was damaged due to a bee hive that had to be removed a couple of years back. They also rebuilt my chimney structure that was rotted badly due to exposure to weather (prior to porch being put in - never will be a problem now!) They even modified my gutter system to take full advantage of my new porch and reduce the stress that existed with just the single gutter system. Entire house - bad siding replaced, re-caulked, and repainted. In short, the house looks like new and given what I spent it was WELL WORTH the $. You may find quotes slightly cheaper, but Sheds and More's quality was well worth the money I spent. HIGHLY recommend !

    Old School Builders LLC
Both buildings were built to high standards as if they were permanent dwellings. Because the project was extensive, sub contractors were also used and those were sort of hit and miss. But Old School builders did a fantastic job of communicating, keeping their promises, and performing the work in a professional manner. I would definitely recommend them and I will use them again on my next project.

    Rawsko's Renovations
I hired an architect and an structural engineer (a city requirement for new construction in Austin) to design the structure and then began shopping the produced plans around. Acting as my own GC, I fully expected to have to hire different subcontractors for demolition, foundation, framing and cornice, painting, electrical, and roofing. I reached out to Jon Wehr, owner of Rawskos Renovations, and was pleasantly surprised that with the exception of electrical, he was willing to bid on the project as a whole with me as the GC. Rawskos prices are fair, about mid way between a large-scale commercial contractor and a guy you found on Craigslist or in the Home Depot parking lot. As with any construction project, you sort of expect a certain amount of flakiness from your subcontractors, miscommunications, no shows, inflated hours or extras charges, but not with Rawskos. The crew were professional and courteous, prompt, thorough, and gave plenty of advanced notice as to scheduling. In fact, we faced battles with the local power company, the city inspectors, and my own architect and engineer, all of which caused unforeseen delays. If not for the flexibility and willingness of the crew to quickly shift gears and do some unaffected part of the job while we waited for clearance, approvals, passed inspections, or missing structural validation reports, this job would have failed dramatically. Jon's estimate for completion was about two months for this project and it finished in just about three months. However, if you subtract out the two week delay caused by discrepancies with power company spotter's approved clearance, 5 days delay caused by the city incorrectly filing our application as a renovation instead of new construction, ten days it took to get a Foundation and Framing Validation report from my engineer that should have taken 30 minutes to write, not to mention a 2 week delay in materials caused by Hurricane Harvey, you can see that Rawskos stayed on task and kept busy, without ever having to put the job on hold or take time off (except during the three days of the actual hurricane). I also wanted to mention that the team constantly made recommendations that enhanced the final outcome or addressed design shortcomings throughout the project. As a beginner GC, I needed a little coaching and they were more than willing to accommodate to ensure they had the materials and design decisions they needed in advance, which kept the project rolling pretty much at full steam.
