Fertility Treatment reviews in Austin
Real People ~ Real Reviews ~ Real Results
This topic is sensitive and emotional to begin with and this clinic did not provide a positive experience. My review isn't based on the lack of IUI success as much as it is on the way I was treated. First, they refer to you by a number instead of your name, which is dehumanizing. When you call in for test results, etc., they just want the patient number, making you feel like cattle. On my first IUI day, I was surprised to arrive at the clinic and find the lobby packed with other waiting couples (not enough seating and cramped), which was uncomfortable and had minimal privacy when talking to the receptionist. It was awkward. Add in the drab and dated decor and it's not an uplifting place that would put you at ease considering the circumstances.
I never had my doctor for any of the three IUI; there are four doctors and they rotate, so doctors who didn't know me or my circumstance performed the procedures. One of those doctors was a bit too jovial for my liking, but his technique was good causing minimal discomfort, while another had a good personality, but always seemed in a hurry and would jam the catheter in, causing a lot of discomfort. My biggest issue was my assigned doctor's nurse. When you called in, you would be directed to the nurse and never having been through these procedures, I had a lot of questions. Several times her Provider name locked. got nasty when I was just asking for clarification about medications, etc. The first time it happened, I chalked it up to her having a bad day and decided to call back another day. When I called again, I got the same bad attitude. It was infuriating and added stress to an already stressful situation. After that, I directed my questions to the doctor and proceeded to interact as little as possible with this nurse. My doctor's communication skills weren't great. He could have been more direct and interested in helping us achieve results, but it felt like we were treated like a lost cause and were just going through the motions. I never felt like they tried that hard to help us with our situation, which was confirmed when we went for a second opinion and treatments at another clinic in Westerville.
On a positive note, the cost of procedures was slightly less than the second clinic I went to, but you get what you pay for. Insurance doesn't cover a lot of these services, so if you can tolerate the bad attitudes and depressing atmosphere, then the price is reasonable. The other positive thing I can mention, is that I was able to get help from the doctor on call and remedy an issue with one my hcg shots that got botched.

It went great. Dr Provider name locked. truly does what most doctors do not do is listen to all details and does provide a plan of care to move forward
I did not feel like he told you what you needed to hear but gave you a plan and let you make your own opinion on wether it made sense
He is very personal and I did not get a feeling that he cared about the numbers or the money
He has his assistant Provider name locked. who is truly top notch and extremely reliable and personal
I am so glad there are still doctors to his caliber today
Fertility is a very personal matter and he knows it
I strongly recommend him as a doctor
Do not pay attention to the receptionist and the front These are secondary!!!!

Dr. Provider name locked. and his entire staff were extremely friendly and caring. They treated me like their only patient and explained fully my difficulties to me. They were patient with trying to come up with the best course of action that fit what my husband and I wanted. I ended up taking some fertility medications and injections and had almost weekly appointments to monitor my progress. My twin boys were born the following May and another son was born without the aid of any medications in October of 2014. I'm so blessed that my OBGYN recommended Dr. Provider name locked. and am grateful to him and his staff for everything they've done for my family.
