Austin Chimney Repair Services Reviews
I have to say, what crap of a response that was by the company owner. I don't expect perfection from a contractor, but I don't know of any client I have ever worked for where you could do part of the job and expect to be paid in full. If the owner of
Your contractors were out at my house 3 times, trying to figure out what to do. Even after 6-7 weeks, they never ordered the materials needed and came unprepared to the job each time they showed up. I've wasted a great deal of time with your company without getting the job being completed. So please, don't sit there and suggest that I was the problem here - you people know what I've told here is the truth. Stop implying that your shortfalls are the customers problem simply because you don't want to take responsibility for what happened. I was a military combat officer for over 20 years. If I let a soldier die on the battlefield because I didn't prepare for the task at hand, what would I say to the parents - "I'm sorry that I let your son die needlessly because I was didn't have my priorities in order and chose to be ignore the situation?" Take control of your priorities and you won't have any of these problems.
Fellow consumers, I suggest you stay far away from this company. If anyone has any questions regarding this review, please feel free to contact me.
The company replaced the chimney flashing without a hitch, it was good work and they completed the job to a high degree of quality and without hesitation.
The repair on the side of the house did not happen. The company explained that they had a problem getting the materials. 6-7 weeks went by the repair and the company never ordered the materials needed to finish the job. I received a call from the manager, as well as the owner, and they did apologize for the delay. They both explained that there were some internal issues with an employee who messed up the scheduling, wasn't productive, etc. At that point, I informed them I had hired another contractor to finish the job and we agreed to reduce the cost of the entire job to about $250.00.
Although this happened, I don't believe this is a bad company, it was just an unfortunate situation. But based on what happened, I do support the ratings I've given the company and think it's an honest review. All in all, I would probably use them again if I needed it."
I had used
Royal showed up right on time and repaired the chimney crown, tuckpointed the mortar that had deteriorated on the bricks, and sealed the chimney. When Royal was finished, he invited me up on the roof to inspect his work. Everything looked great, and the area was clean. Just recently, we had 3" of rain over a day and a half, and there was no leak.
Royal was very professional in dealings with me, and his work was impeccable. I would recommend
In spite of all of that, they later sent someone else to finish the inspection and they gave me a very thorough description of the problems they saw and an estimate on the cost of repair, which we were able to use in negotiations with the seller of the house. The previous owner never used the fireplace in the all the years he lived here, so it was largely neglected and issues were never encountered. Fast forward to the start of winter, and I decided to get the requested repairs done and called up
By this time,
Royal and another person came out and did they work in just a few hours. They seemed professional and were happy to answer any questions about the work they were doing. They waited to patch the crown, because they said that it takes a while to set and it was expected to rain in the next couple days, so they wanted to make sure conditions were right before doing the job. They kept me up to date on when they planned to come out and do the job when conditions were right, and then one day they simply let me know the job was done. I did not see a bill from them until they completed all the tasks we agreed on, even though the majority of the work was done in a day and the last part came a week and half or so later.
I continue to feel bad for the unfortunate accident that happened while they were doing the initial inspection for me, but in spite of having to deal with all of that, every member of "
