Finding the Best In-Home Daycare or Child Care

They are simply outstanding! The kids and their learning come first at Sunrise, which is just how it should be! I've seen some reviews grumble about strict drop-off and pick up policies, but they are great at taking the time to explain why those policies are in place and the effect it has on the kids. In fact, everything they do gets tied back to development of the kids and how best to help them grow. This is not a daycare. This is a school. I love how seriously Sunrise take that distinction. Children are taught to explore and learn in a very loving and supportive environment. Couldn't be more pleased!

Our 3yo daughter has been attending this school since June 2016. She is currently attending Tuesdays and Thursdays for half a day (8AM to 12PM), is part of the Fireflies class, and it costs us $350 a month. The school is Dependent Care eligible and requires the student to be potty trained before they can attend the toddler classes. They do have a babies program and pretty sure they don't require the babies are potty trained...although...that would be a miracle if babies are potty trained at that age.... We regularly interact with Ms. Tamnya, Ms. Ali, Ms. Lauren, and the teacher of the Butterflies class (unfortunately, I do not know her name). All four of them are awesome teachers. They are very patient and gentle with the kids. When the kids are upset and crying, I often see them soothing them and calming them down. I've also seen them take immediate action to stop any unwanted behaviors by stopping them immediately and explaining to the children why not to do something. My daughter is always excited to go to class and honestly I am too. She's allowed to show up when the school open at 7AM which we did in the beginning but I've been unable to wake up that early nowadays and make it to class by 7:30'ish. They (the teachers) don't mind me hanging around and playing with the kids until 8AM when they start class. Hate to admit it, I've been late before, but never had a problem. Just let the kiddo go into class by herself and all set. We're provided weekly reports on our daughter's progress and there are Parent-Teacher Conferences so we can get a more detailed report on our daughter's progress, strengths, weaknesses (err..."areas of improvement"), and what the teacher has in stored for her. I'm honestly always impressed that Ms. Lauren knows my daughter by her name and my name as well (obviously Ms. Tamnya knows our name as she's the primary teacher). Anytime we need to call in sick, we're always wished for a speedy recovery which is always appreciated. I'm honestly looking forward to my second one to become potty trained so I can enroll her as well (yep...I has two daughters). TL;DR: Awesome school, awesome teachers and staff. They're very friendly, gentle, and know their stuff. Kids are well behaved. Highly recommend the school to anyone considering. Can't wait to enroll my second kiddo.

PCMA was incredible.  We cannot say enough good things about the staff, facility, curriculum, environment, teachers, etc.  We feel very blessed to have landed on such a wonderful environment for our first child.  It is tough to get in here, for good reasons - advice is to reserve a spot early!

The service has always been great.  They're extremely good with all of the kids and always treat them well.  They don't favor any kids over any other.  My wife calls it the "happy place".

Our experience at Acorn was stellar. Our daughters thrived there, and felt loved and secure. They were so well prepared for kindergarten that their public school recommended that they both skip kinder and go straight into first grade. With one exception (Caitlin) we found the teachers to be kind, consistent, affectionate caregivers who maintained high, but realistic expectations. The teachers were definitely more than just babysitters; they helped children learn discipline while also allowing them to be kids. For example, the pre-kinder class did an exercise in which they had to divide into pairs and propose a plan to retrieve a leaf from the other side of the chain link fence with supplies they could find in the playground. The summer reading program set a goal of number of minutes devoted to reading per day, calibrated by age. Those who met their goals received gift cards to Half Price Books. The small school size meant that it was easy to build a community, and several parents have become our close friends. The owner has a tendency to increase tuition with little to no warning, which was a thorn in our side, but we were willing to put up with that for the great teachers. Turnover among the junior teachers was rather high. In our 5 years, only 3 staff members remained the whole time. It seemed like a teacher was on her way out every 2 or 3 months. The administration stayed comparatively constant, with 3 directors in 6 years. Despite our great experience, it appears that Acorn has declined drastically since we left. In the past 10 months, they have had almost 100% turnover. None of the teachers who used to have their own kids (mine called them "Rome models") at Acorn have them there any longer, and I am sad to say that I would not return. I was unimpressed by the current director's inability to tell me whether or not they would provide before school care for elementary kids when they bring their afterschool program back.

Love this place, This is an amazing home away from home...maybe even better! I can't begin to say enough about the staff and amazing curriculum and activities. This is a quaint and charming center with all the comfort of a home filled wth a nurturing and loving staff who are committed to excellence and providing a healthy and safe environment where children feel loved, are engaged in learning and have opportunities to explore, feel accepted and academically and spiritually . My 5 kids went here and they did a great job with all of them.

This is the most incredible day care and learning center!  My grandson goes to Childs Way and I've never met  more personal, professional and qualified people. The owners care about the children. The teachers are all degreed. It is a very very happy place for children (and their parents)

Kim came by to take a look and gave me a quote. She was very thorough and wrote everything down on my estimate and invoice b/c it was a repair found by a home inspection due to the home being sold. She then came back and fixed everything promptly and even tolerated my two young children that were very interested in what she was doing. She is very personable and great to have around.

I have had nothing but great, positive experiences here! The Staff is welcoming and very knowledgable. Everyone is genuinely concerned with my child's well being and education. She has grown so much in such a short time and continues to come home impressing me with what she has learned. I am so thankful for Sunrise and could not imagine attending a different school.
