Basement Waterproofing reviews in Austin

    Foundation Support Specialists
The work Foundation Support Specialists performed was horrific, and I currently am involved in a Deceptive Trade Practices Act lawsuit (DTPA) with FSS for approximately $200,000.00. This company is not to be trusted by any means. Since the filing of the lawsuit, the company and their counsel continue to deny, minimize, and ignore responsibility for just about everything they did, even blaming me for their crappy work. I paid FSS $21,240.00 to waterproof a basement, and the work they performed did absolutely nothing but damage my property. My basement floods after every heavy rainfall. FSS was overwhelmingly negligent, and did not (1) get any of the required city permitting to complete the project. (2) hire a qualified engineer to assess the project. The engineering firm they did hire only performed a visual inspection of the property, no testing was performed (this was entirely inadequate). (3) complete the project (left work unfinished). Due to the constant mishaps, I requested my money back. The company owners refuse, stating they re not responsible and attempt to shift blame anywhere they can. When I insisted, one of the company owners accused me of blackmail because I told him if he didn't refund my money, I was going to hire a lawyer and post reviews like this one. They continue to deny responsibility and through their lawyer, I have been accused of "harassing their client." Also, some of these positive reviews have been bought off, meaning FSS pays a person the sum of $50.00 for each positive review. Fellow consumers, please do not be fooled by the appearance of FSS and their purchased reviews. Due to their actions, my property has been destroyed. If you have any questions, please contact me.

    Foundation Support Specialists
Terrible. On 3/14/2018, I contracted with Foundation Support Specialists to waterproof a 300 Square Foot Basement in my 69 year old home. I paid this company $21,240.00 to complete the contracted work. After the initial work was completed, I thought the flooding had been properly remedied and I spent thousands of dollars in remodeling and landscaping costs to finish the project. However, the flooding did not stop, and as a result, my investment has incurred additional damage. Over the course of approximately 10 months, the company came out several times and attempted to repair it but when it was clear that they didn't have the knowledge/expertise to fix it, they attempted to shift responsibility and blame other contractors for the flooding. It is now my opinion that the work was completed to a very poor quality the work that has been performed has resulted in nothing. I requested a full refund from the owners and to date, they have refused to refund the money. Now, matters are worse. Not only has the company refused to refund my money, my property has incurred several thousands of dollars in additional damage and because the problem continues to exist, I am required by law to disclose this in any sellers agreement, which essentially devalues my property. I am a disabled combat veteran living on a pension and took out a home equity loan to pay for these services. I feel like my money has been stolen out from under me and now, I have to pay for legal representation to recover these monies. It has been a complete nightmare and I recommend to all consumers/veterans that they stay clear of Foundation Support Specialists.

    FRONTIER BASEMENT SYSTEMS
Frontier sells the top-end of the solutions for sealing a crawl space, which is a good idea in the humid Middle Tennessee climate. I was replacing the HVAC ducting and thought it was a good time to resolve the remaining water issues. Frontier had a person onsite within a few days (and the quick response was to accommodate my schedule) who did an extremely thorough inspection and detailed estimate. The person was also a long-time house inspector and I've rarely had the opportunity to work with someone as knowledgeable as he was - and the proposal reflected this. Unfortunately I was not able to go forward with the work at that time and am adopting 'watchful waiting' over the next couple of years until the current tenant's run is over. However when the time is right I will return to Frontier for a proposal update and hopefully to complete the work.

BARTON & BARTON CONTRACTING CO INC
I called three times and still didn't get the estimate until August. The estimate for the work was over $6,000. He wasn't very informative as far as the estimate was concerned. I would not recommend them.

    Quality Foundation Repair
Simon and his crew were very efficient.  They completed the work in fewer days than I expected.  The pictures of the works were impressive.  Simon was pleasant and professional in his manner  and everything went according to plan.  I am certain his thoroughness has saved us from  a number of problems that would have cause trouble in the future.  I also believe they would have been far more expensive to correct later.
Within a few days, the contractor working on a hardwood floor the dampness had caused to buckle, suggested using a fan to help the evaporation process under the house.  Simon came back an set up a fan to help with that at not further cost to us.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Quality Foundation Repair  to anyone with pier and beam foundation issues.

    Austin Drainage + Landscape Development
Scott and his guys always do a great job.  They did a nice job integrating the downspout drain into some existing stonework, and the rebuilt stone wall looks terrific.  They added some unobtrusive "weep holes" to allow small amounts of water to drain through the wall.

    Columbus Waterproofing
I did not know how much were involved with their work until I saw it. Larry and Frank are kind and friendly, and hard working people; they were punctual at their job, They are not young anymore, but I can trust them and their work to finish their each section of the job timely. They were working about 6 to 8 hours a day at site. I have told Larry about my plan to finish my basement, but I won't be in town until my child finished school, he took it as his own basement that need to be finished up and started job 2 days early before my arrival. They were honest and helpful, we have many stuff in our basement that were collected through out the time by my father, they helped to move some stuff out and demolished a big closet for us, in returns, I agree to clean up some of the debris left from the work for them. They worked from outside around the house then worked inside of the basement, it was labor intense work, They started on 5/17/10 and finished on 6/3/2010, we are all impressed and appreciated their work attitudes and responsibilities, though the water still got in from the near-street corner of the basement, it did not reach the goal of preventing water coming in the basement, At least, the water will not get on the basement floor, it will go through the widened trenches to the ground drainage.

    Austin Drainage + Landscape Development
I chose the company because of information on Angie's List. First, Scott was going to be 20 minutes late to our appointment, and he called to let us know - that alone is amazing. He spent more than an hour explaining exactly what needs to be done and why. I was impressed. I would not hesitate to recommend the company!

    Jaco Waterproofing
It has held up very well and worked perfectly fine for us. They came on time and did the injection molding into the foundation and there have been no leaks. They were on time, professional and effective, but also a little sloppy. The process works, I haven't had any further leaks there. I would use them again, but I'd watch them a little closer to make sure they were neater.

Great communication from the office administrator, Ashley, regarding the estimate, timeline for the project, and additional work needed as issues arose. The workers showed up on-time and worked hard all day & the project was completed on-time.
