    A-1 SEWING MACHINE COMPANY INC
GREAT, and the gent who owns the shop spent over an hour with my wife making sure she knew how to operate the machine since it had been several years since she'd used it. It was GREAT that he did that because she learned things she didn't know and we left there extremely satisfied. NO CHARGE for the tutoring, either!!!

They repaired my machine and I haven’t had any problems with it since. They are a Janome Dealer and I have bought several machines from them. They sell a good product and give goo service

I delivered the machine to them more than 10 days ago. They have not called back to quote a charge for repair. They are not answering phone calls and and several recorded messages to them have been unanswered. If they are closed, they should put a message to that effect on their phone. I am making masks and this lack of communication is unacceptable. I now have to assume that my machine is a hostage to fortune and buy another.

They held it for two weeks without doing any work or contacting me so I had to pick it up and take elsewhere.

I like to deal with Tony, the owner's co-worker.  He's calm and easy going.  The owner, Nick, on the other hand should avoid contact with any customers experiencing problems from a previous install.  He is quick to anger and frustration.  His co-worker is not!  There work is impeccable and prices comparable to other plumbing companies.  I would highly recommend them.   The owner is pleasant when he comes to your home to offer an estimate.  This tells me that dealing with conflict is his big negative issue. ************************************ Nick, It's amazing to me that even though I gave you an "A" rating; recommended your company to others; and said I would use you all again, you elected to reply with a defensive, rude and mean comment.   I suppose it did take you longer in your dealings with me than the actual time on the job because you kept implying that we had broken the pump in some way.  I knew this wasn't true and had to prove it to you.  You also said I expected you to do the work for free and this made ME quite angry, not you.  This is not a truthful statement, Nick.  I believe in treating others the way I wish to be treated [with kindness]; and I would have never spoken to you in anger...NEVER.   We purchased this particular pump because you claimed it never breaks and had a 7 year warranty.  According to the pump manufacturer, they do break.  Please understand, I do know the job isn't an easy one; and you all work very hard--there is no doubt; but there was no need for you to be ugly by replying on Angie's List " ...to remove your fully submerged sewage pump sitting three foot underground in a slurry of water, fecal matter, urine and toilet paper.  Not fun and probably the worse / nastiest job to date!"

Service was prompt. I left the machine off one day, received a call with an estimate within a day, and service was completed within 1-2 days, after that.

My machine wouldn't hold a bobbin or perform any of the fancy stitches that it is set up to do. All the controls were really stiff to turn. The repair consisted of ordering a new mechanism and practically rebuilding it. Big job with a 60 day guarantee. This is a vintage machine and now it is returned to it's original working order. THANKS!

I took my very old Industrial machine in to get tuned and put back in sync. Everyone was very friendly and helpful.Barry the technician was knowledgeable and very helpful. Although I had some struggles using it when I started back to sew it was merely my lack of knowledge of the use of it. The machine was given to me by my Aunt that did commercial work for 40 years. Since I had a couple quirks in trying to get to using it I called Barry. He offered to come out at a later date and also told me I could bring it to his house on the weekend so he could hook it to a higher speed motor and also teach me the mechanics of the machine. I finally got it figured out on mt own but will take him up one day on his offer. I definitely would use them in the future and highly recommend them. First Class Service all the way. They have a beautiful and very well stocked store.

I HAD TAKEN THE MACHINES TO 2 OTHER REPAIR SHOPS WHERE THEY TRIED TO SELL ME A NEW ONE. A-1 CLEANED, REPAIRED, AND REFURBISHED THE MACHINE VERY QUICKLY AND FOR A REASONABLE PRICE.

My wife's (Grandmother's) sewing machine had been out of use for a couple of years, and she started sewing some items again in the last year. Over that time, she always mentioned that the machine would need to be oiled and serviced because it had sat for a long time. Eventually, she started seeing increasing problems until the thread started snapping every time she used it...time for that service! Initially she took it to one of the larger chain fabric stores and was told it could take 6 - 8 weeks and likely cost $150 to service, quite disappointing. A quick search of Angie's list brought up Atlanta Sewing Center, and it was worth it. I took the machine in on 4th March and was told it would probably take a couple of weeks (apparently there was a sewing expo in town and that resulted in higher than normal volume of machines coming in for service). I was shocked to get a call just one week later that the machine was done! Completely serviced and good as new - they even left the small test piece for the stitching in place to verify. The best part: it was only $80. So...half the price of the and quot;otherand quot; place (also listed on this website), and the work was completed in only a week. Definitely will use them again!
