  • Given that we live over 1,100 miles away from the event area, Angie's help was invaluable. Our loved one was very specific in the details for the Celebration of Life event so there was a lot for Angie to coordinate.
All keeping within the limits of our moderate budget for the event (~$7,500), Angie coordinated the selection of a venue, caterer, invitations, helping with the invitation list (locating family member addresses/phone numbers), mailing of the invitations, handling RSVPs, coordination with the event space on food and alcohol and locating/hiring the band. We found her to be well prepared for any unexpected event which was especially helpful.
Beyond handling all preparation work, Angie handled all needs during the event itself and managed all cleanup. She was very professional and we liked that she had a professional dress/name tag that made her easily identifiable for any guest to ask questions. Family members commented on how nice it was to know who was in charge for information on the event space, etc.
She did all of the work on the day of the event and was the contact point with the venue and caterer so that we could focus on the family and getting back in touch with everyone and we did not have to be distracted with the event details. The event space was a perfect fit for our loved one's wishes, the food was quite good, the bar and band was spot on and we had absolutely no issues to worry about during this difficult time. Angie was very sensitive to the occasion and would recommend her for future events of this nature.

  • Luxe is a great value. However, I think their business model that keeps the price down also makes it difficult for someone like me who 'overplans' and is a little bit of a control freak. While easy to determine what to rent and how to pay, they don't always pay attention to notes on the order (like, must be delivered after noon). They are a little hard to get in touch with via phone/email so I was always not quite certain they would deliver when they needed to, or pick up when we needed them to. Everything DID work out just as planned so I think they are definitely worth using. Just make sure to over-communicate with them and confirm several times on delivery times/days for your own piece of mind.

  • The facilities were gorgeous but the food and the service were terrible. 15 round tables were crammed into a room, the round tables were WAY too small to seat 10 people per table. Plus several of us couldn't get our knees under because of metal posts blocking our legs. The event, which included a $40 dinner, was supposed to start at 7pm but at 6:30 all salads were already at each setting warm and wilted. At 6:45, as soon as my husband and I sat in a seat to talk to someone, a plate with a slab of chicken, plain noodles, and potatoes were plopped down at 4 of the 10 spaces. About 7:30pm, 7 of the 10 people at our table round finally had their chicken but nobody wanted to start because 3 were still waiting for their chicken. Finally we all ate cold chicken, which was very unpleasant. After the dinner plates were removed, coffee was plopped down in PAPER cups but only to about 3 people at our table. There were only two sugars in the Provider name locked. holder and they were soaking wet. Three creamers were unceremoniously plopped down on the tables next to wherever there were PAPER coffee cups. I tried to get more but the server was stingy and had a "you get what you get" attitude. She wouldn't give Provider name locked. more creamers! Every time something was plopped down, the servers quickly ran away. There were few opportunities to ask for a coffee or some more cream. I got tired of waiting for a coffee cup to arrive so I just drank my husbands. We also didn't have any spoons. The servers were loud and disrepectful of our event. They would block our view of the speakers and the screen; just standing in the way in between the tables. And they were so loud we couldn't hear the speakers: the kitchen was right off the room and whenever the staff opened the door to the kitchen, all 150 of us could hear them in the kitchen laughing and playing loud music. People were singing in the kitchen while we were trying to hear people at our own event gives speeches. Speaking of which, their sound system cut out a lot. Finally, the servers kept cranking the AC since they were hot from running around and so the rest of the guests froze their butts off.
