Navid Derakhashan and his family business Outdoor Makeover Construction did a superb job on our extensive landscaping, gathering the highest praises from the dozens of people who saw it. “It’s like a paradise!” was a common compliment. We took a different approach, perhaps, than most people who search for the best deal on landscaping. Our approach was to vet the landscape designer, and not the proposal. We found Navid and his crews to be very easy to work with. He’s a great listener, patient, kind, and not at all pushy. Though the design phase was comfortable, and even fun, it wasn’t until the crew completed their work that we really got to see the real WOW! We watch our money closely, and even though this project was pricey because of its size, we got more than our money’s worth, and more than we expected. His uniformed, polite, hard-working, and conscientious crews have not been bested by any of the contractors we have hired before or since. They often went the extra mile to make sure things were right. Though it’s been almost a year since they have completed the work, our appreciation for their work has not subsided. Like a great work of art, there’s always something new to admire about the remarkable creativity, craftsmanship and attention to detail that went into this project. Landscape lighting, stonework, and shrubbery may not sound exciting, but in the hands of an artistic team, they become magical.

Teo and his dad did a great job transforming our backyard from a jungle into an accessible playground for the kids just in time for our daughters bday party. Support hard working family businesses. Hire teo.

Our project was to update our tired 30 year-old screened shed porch, along with the original cracked and stained concrete patio. Navid and Omid , our Makeover Brothers, initially spent several hours with us presenting various options for both porch and patio. We decided on a remodel of the existing porch, removing screens and one side, and replacing the old ceiling and inside siding with natural wood decking. The open porch, patio, and sidewalk were then covered with a beautiful design of brick pavers. Proper drainage was installed and affected shrubs were neatly pruned back to accommodate underground pipes. Crunch rock was added to an adjoining walkway. They even hauled away a rusting basketball hoop at no charge! The result is an open, breezy, and attractive addition to our home. Once the project began, the work was fast and efficient and our questions were answered promptly and to our satisfaction. Job well done!

We had a great experience! The initial meeting was great, we had some ideas and Navid was able to tell us what would work and what wouldn't within our budget, We agreed a plan and a price we were happy with. There was a delay in starting the project due to the weather but once they started there was a crew of 5 people here every day and they worked really hard to get it all completed in 3 days. Navid came by everyday to check everything was going the way we wanted and was very responsive to our concerns and ideas. We couldn't be happier with the end result.

I had a 13x13 paver patio built with a pathway leading from my original patio. I also had a drainage pipe put in for the standing water that was occurring in my back yard- making it a swamp. It was a nightmare for my dogs. The project was delayed a couple of times, but we finally got it completed. Teo and his dad worked **** ** the drain. Teo's father worked diligently on the paver patio. it came out NICE !

Since we didn't have a landscape plan, we were able to work in stages to see the plan through. Demo, building the wall, adding the boulders, building the steps and then adding the landscape was something that we discussed daily and we participated in boulder and plant selection. Aaron and team made it easy, we took it day by day. We overran our original budget through choices we made, and even then they looked for ways to save us additional money. Very proud of the job we did (as a team).

Everything went great from start to finish and I highly recommend this company. Michael Knight managed the project well by being professional, accessible, explaining everything thoroughly, providing helpful suggestions, and clearly communicating dates/times the work would be performed. His crew installed drainage, including a channel drain, in-ground drain boxes, and pipes carrying the drainage water as well as downspout water away from our house and down toward the road. They also graded most of our back yard, planted zeon zoysia grass, installed a paver stone patio, and built stairs to access the patio from our house. I have also used them for gutter cleaning, gutter repair, and downspout replacement and all experiences have been positive and fairly priced.

I enjoyed working with Donnie planning my project. We met in person a couple times and traded a few emails and each encounter was pleasant. Because Wilson Bros doesn’t perform tree and ivy services, they have a tree service partner they primarily work with. We got them engaged and I explained all the trees, stumps, bushes, and ivy I needed removed. The quote looked fair and because they claim to work close with Wilson Bros on their projects and Donnie vouched for their service, I decided to move forward with removing the trees, stumps, ivy and bushes. That’s when things started to fall apart. I had to reach out to them on scheduling and I wouldn’t get a clear answer. When I asked when specifically as I’d like to confirm that it works with our schedule, I didn’t receive options but I received statements. When the crew did show up they worked hard and were kind to my family. Then I started to hear from the crew we can’t do this or our equipment doesn’t do that. When the crew started to leave for the day I saw all the stumps are still in the ground as well as most the ivy. The team replied another team will come out to finish the job. Well I didn’t know that nor did they mention it any communications. Once again had to call the company to figure out scheduling and they said it’s usually a couple of days after the initial service. When the stump removal crew finally showed up he immediately said my equipment can’t get all the stumps. So I had ivy and stumps all over the yard that the tree company who agreed to the job are now saying they can’t complete the work. When I spoke with the owner of the tree company he said him and Donnie have worked out a plan that they’d put pine straw over it and that it’d be fine. Well a live tree stump will still grow, so that wasn’t acceptable by me. Here’s the kicker, the tree company that the Wilson Bros brought for this job and who they partner on landscape jobs still wanted to charge me the full amount for the work even though it wasn’t complete. As this was happening all I could think was if this is how the Wilson Bros’ partners treat me, then how will I be treated when the bigger work comes along with Wilson Bros. I promptly called Donnie and explained the situation and that they will not be the landscaping company we’ll be moving forward with. It’s unfortunate because I really thought Donnie and his team/partners were better than this, but I guess you never know until the work starts.

Navid and his team were extremely professional and courteous, from the first consult through to completion of the project. Navid handled all communications with his team and sub-contractors which made life very easy for us as homeowners. Somehow he is able to balance several projects at once but still make you feel like his only client. Our project was a relatively major backyard remodel. We took an over-grown area at the back of our property and turned it into a paradise, with new grass and plantings, a dry creek bed, and some fun playground equipment for our young son. Navid and his crew were very proficient and skilled and we are ecstatic with the end result. We will likely be re-doing our front yard in the next couple of years and Navid will be our first call.
