"We had just moved into a new house and met with several designers, including of , to talk through our furniture placement," paint colors, design ideas, etc. in advance of beginning major renovations. While the visit itself went fine, we decided to move forward with other more experienced designers for several reasons: 1. Scheduling was a pain because she was so busy. We waited 2-3 weeks for an initial appointment then asked her availability to do follow-up work but her earliest opening was 2-3 weeks out. We felt she was so overbooked with Angie's List $100 consults that she didn't have the attention to devote to a potential high-value long-term client. 2. The standard fees she gave us for future work were not what her "list price" was on Angie's List - thus she is (or at least was at the time) inflating the value of her services so she can provide a 50% discount deal at similar prices to what she offers ongoing. Further, we found several much more experienced, higher-end designers in the area that charged less per hour for better results (obviously design work is subjective). 3. She seemed to impose her ideas and style much more than other designers. She didn't like some art pieces and decoration pieces we love (and other designers loved as well) and made several negative comments during our consult. Instead of learning what we liked, our style, etc. she seemed to have a cookie cutter approach of her style that matched ours. 4. She set a timer on her phone and abruptly left (almost mid-sentence) when the time was up. She ended with "That wraps up our time together, please buy another consult online if you want to talk more about this room" and walked out. As someone who bills by the hour for a living, I was annoyed by this. Finish up your current topic of conversation politely, suggest next steps, and invest time in a good final impression. There was a lack of professional maturity to me here. As I mentioned above, the visit was fine (no major problems, she arrived on time, etc.), but just fine. She didn't wow us or impress us. Perhaps we got her on a bad day or busy day, but we've had much better luck with other designers since 's initial consult last year.

" and her team were great. They all worked very hard to push me out of my "white wall" comfort zone while still being cognizant" of my wants and needs. I couldn't be happier with the way it turned out.

  • Came prepared to discuss all details of our bathroom and made excellent suggestions which we are now using when remodeling.  Did seem to get stuck on one design idea and didn't offer a lot of options, but the design she came up with was very good and the one we ended up using after consulting with others.  Was happy to use her services and would recommend to others.
