"I've been going to him for a little over 2 years. He never really listened it took me seriously. He was absolutely NO help with my Autistic son. He has a "
" " complex, and he's just an overall jerk.

"It is the only place in Hawaii you can go to get this type of treatment and medicine. As the weather changes joints and arthritis can hurt really bad and it can" become hard to deal with. Thankfully Dr.

Hospitalist

If you suddenly find yourself in the hospital from an accident, chronic condition or surgery, you’ll most likely receive immediate care from a hospitalist. This type of doctor usually treats patients in a large facility.

They're out of physicians. They don't have any available physicians. In the last five years, I had a doctor. He retired. Then I had three female doctors and they all left. The problem is that family doctors and internists don't make as much money as the people in specialties. The last person I have is a nurse practitioner. That would be okay too, except I didn't like her. She doesn't want to be there. I was trying to get a regular doctor, a full-fledged doctor and they just don't have anybody available who is taking patients. It's a beautiful place, not that that makes your healthcare good. But, it's a modern facility. The staff are all good. My nurse practitioner is lousy. But prior to her, the doctors were all good. They had good bedside manner.

The only gripe I had was the food. It seemed like everything was microwaved because I can taste microwave food. I lost 15 pounds in a week while I was in there. I only weighed 173 pounds when I went in. I went in there feeling not too good and I ended up getting doubts of feeling better. We went to the restaurant to eat earlier in the evening, and a few hours later I woke up with indigestion, nothing really serious and stuff like that. I took a couple of Tums, burped a couple of times, and went back to bed. An hour later, it came back a little bit worse and I started sweating a little bit so I thought it was food poisoning. I got in my car and drove to the hospital. I had no other health issues. They took my blood pressure and it was like 50 points higher and I said it doesn't usually take triple digits. After a bunch of tests, they came back and they said I had a massive heart attack. They said they were going to make me comfortable as the cardiologist was on his way. He came in and said they are going to do a catheterization on me. They gave me some morphine for the pain. I didn't really have pain but they said they were going to get rid of the pressure. When they were doing the procedure, they punctured the artery to my heart and it almost killed me. It was too weird of an experience. I really don't want to do it again. As soon as they took my blood pressure, they saw what happened. There was none of those waiting around. The staff is very friendly. I didn't have any problems with the billing. They are the nearest hospital and I trust them with my life.

Months after a hospital stay following spinal surgery I was shocked to receive a rather large bill from a company called
Atlanta Hospitalists Provider Name Locked
. I had never heard of these people, did not know what a "hospitalist" was, but based on the dates it was clear they had supposedly performed some service while i was hospitalized at
Atlanta Hospitalists Provider Name Locked
in Walnut Creek, and were outside my insurance network, so not covered. I was furious at the hospital, and at this company.
The bill turned out to be for what I sarcastically called while in the hospital "drive-by docs" who showed up once or twice a day, introduced themselves as "Dr So-and-So with
Atlanta Hospitalists Provider Name Locked
" (which I consider misleading since they are not
Atlanta Hospitalists Provider Name Locked
employees, but employees of
Atlanta Hospitalists Provider Name Locked
), asked me how I was doing, rarely walked all the way into the room, and rarely stayed more than a minute, sometimes less. There were several different doctors - I don't know how many because I never had a
Atlanta Hospitalists Provider Name Locked
to get to know any of them - and it was clear that in some cases the doctor either had not looked at my chart, or didn't remember what he read because some of them seemed to have no real idea what was going on with me. And for this I was expected to pay
Atlanta Hospitalists Provider Name Locked
$185 per one-minute visit.
I refused to pay the bill on the basis that I was not informed that there would be charges over and above the hospital's normal per
Atlanta Hospitalists Provider Name Locked
rate, or that there would be out-of-network providers involved in my care and that I would be billed for their very questionable "services". I had a reasonable expectation that all my care would be covered as in-network unless informed otherwise.
I also had a legal right "To be fully informed, prior to or at the time of admission and during stay...of related charges, including any charges for services not covered by the Facility's basic per-
Atlanta Hospitalists Provider Name Locked
rate..." (From the California Patient's Bill of Rights). I hold both
Atlanta Hospitalists Provider Name Locked
Hospital and
Atlanta Hospitalists Provider Name Locked
responsible for making certain I was informed there would be extra charges, and that these charges would not be covered by my insurance provider as in-network.
I also informed
Atlanta Hospitalists Provider Name Locked
hospital that they had violated my rights under the federal Patient's Bill of Rights to "receive information about the individual(s) responsible for, as well as those providing, his or her care, treatment, and services". I informed them that I considered it misleading that the doctors introduce themselves as "with
Atlanta Hospitalists Provider Name Locked
". I should have been informed who these drive-by docs were, and what their true affiliation was with the hospital, and I should have been given an opportunity to refuse to have these outside doctors involved in my care. Since my surgeon or his PA came at least once, sometimes twice a day to check on me, I would have declined the ridiculously overpriced drive-by visits by the
Atlanta Hospitalists Provider Name Locked
Hospitalist doctors who for the most part did absolutely nothing for me except disturb my peace for a few minutes each day.
I did not pay the
Atlanta Hospitalists Provider Name Locked
Hospitalist bill. I told
Atlanta Hospitalists Provider Name Locked
that they should talk to my insurance company, and to
Atlanta Hospitalists Provider Name Locked
about being paid since I had not consented to have them involved in my care, let alone to pay an exorbitant rate for almost nothing. I don't know what the outcome was except that I never received another bill.
In my opinion using these outside contractors who provide very little for far too much money is a very poor patient care practice on the part of
Atlanta Hospitalists Provider Name Locked
, and while most of the doctors were pleasant and cheery (sometimes annoyingly so), they did not seem particularly committed to providing any kind of real care at all.

I had a hysterestomy two years ago and need to warn people considering WMH. While my surgeon did a great job, I was given so much anesthetic that I didn't wake-up for 12 hours. When I did, I was very groggy at which time a nurse gave me double the amount of pain meds (the type of which had been rejected pre-surgery )for my size and weight. I was throwing up for two days....I was supposed to leave the hospital within 24 hours. They had to keep me an extra day - of course for more expense.Another nurse inserted a catheter in the wrong place - I had bladder infections for more than a year following. A third nurse ignored my empty and backing-up IV for over 20 minutes while I rang the call bell. I heard her visiting across from my room in the nurse's station. There were a few of the nursing staff that seemed responsive and caring, but I will NEVER go back to this facility.

These people are absolutely awful! They send statements, not invoices. On these statements, all doctors' charges are lumped together. There is no breakout by doctor or service. Insurance payments are not broken out by date of service. A consumer has no idea what he is being billed for.
I have a 12 page statement that goes back to the year 2000. They think I owe them money but I don't. They threaten collections action but cannot explain the charges.
Case in point is services performed for my wife on 1/24/11. They charged $1.588.22. Blue Cross discounted this to $527.57 and paid $474.81. The secondary insurance, Cigna, paid $179.63. There should be a credit balance of $126.87 but the Billing Office does not recognize this.
I have sent them dozens of letters asking for an explanation of the balance they say I owe. They have replied with 12-page statements dating from 2000 (the same as I already have) with highlighting, including the services performed on 1/24/11.
The example above in just one of many for me, my wife, and my daughter.

I was having severe abdominal pains and my husband drove me to the nears ER he could find. From the beginning to the end, it was a nightmare. We had to wait 8 hours in the emergency waiting room and then once we were admitted in the back, I had wait another 2 or 3 hours to see the Dr. on duty. Dr. Einfalt was the rudest Dr. I've ever met. He has no bedside manner whatsoever and saw me for 5 minutes at the most. He ordered a CT Scan, which my Dr. later told me, he shouldn't have done because it was totally unnecessary and harmful to me. He misdiagnosed me, but I don't know how he could have diagnosed me correctly having seen me for less than 5 minutes. I was so upset by the entire experience that I tried to walk out of the hospital, but the head nurse convinced me to stay and said that she knows Dr. Einfalt has no bedside manner, but that since they were finally able to find a room for me, I should stay and see if they can help with the pain. I have since been correctly diagnosed and I am in the process of writing a letter to the hospital and to the NC Dept of Health & Human Services. There was absolutely no sense of urgency from anyone in the hospital and it was clear that no one cared. I even asked to speak with the Hospital Administrator,
Atlanta Hospitalists Provider Name Locked
, and she clearly wasn't interested in hearing about my problems. After 12 hours in the hospital with no relief and no proper diagnosis, I am still so upset about the whole experience.

nurses were very considerate and caring. The hospitaist was pleasant but vauge. He also told me I would not recover from my stroke. The nurses would answer all my questioons, more so than the doctors. Food OK. Had to wait about 45 minutes in the emergency room before seeing anyone.

Overall, this was a very positive experience. As with any medical experience you should always remain involved with your loved one and the staff responsible for their care. Get to know them and get/give contact numbers.
