    1 on 1 Physical Therapy
I had been told by chiropractors that the pinched nerve was something that I would have to live with. Also, a medical doctor told me that I had a bruised rotator cuff. After Ryan's consultation he told me I had tendinitis. "I see it every day." After a few weeks of dry needling and manual therapy the pinched nerve was completely gone, and tendinitis? A thing of the past! He's a miracle worker! I can't believe I lived with so much intense pain for so many years and all I needed was a physical therapist who knew what to do. I can't recommend 1 on 1 Physical Therapy highly enough. Do yourself a favor and call Ryan. You don't have to live in pain no matter what doctors tell you.

    Massage Envy Spa- Asheville South
I scheduled a massage with deep muscle therapy and while speaking with the person on the phone I made sure to explain I had an injury to my back.  She explained what was involved with the deep muscle therapy and that it was a good choice for my back injury.  When I arrived for my appointment I was given papers to fill out and was taken to their tranquillity waiting room.  While I was completing the papers a young lady came in to go over my paperwork and it was then I was informed the therapist that I was scheduled with did not do the deep muscle therapy I had requested.  She went on to say that she could do the aromatherapy for muscles aches and it was pretty much the same thing.  I agreed to the change in service since I was already there. My therapist was great and very respectful and made sure multiple times she wasn't causing me any additional pain to my lower back.  Upon leaving I received their membership spill, but when I decline the front desk lady respected my decline and did not pressure me in any way.  I never received an answer as to why I was booked with someone that couldn't do the services I had requested or if they didn't have anyone at my appointment time that could do the services requested, it should have been explained over the phone.  I probably would have checked with their other location instead of making the appointment.   Also the armoratherapy is not basically the same thing as the deep muscle therapy.  I would have declined this $10 add on had I realized exactly what it was.  With a lower back sprain what I really needed was the warming cream, massage and the biofreeze at the end.  I probably won't be making another appointment as I will go someplace else that can perform the services I request or at least give me notice when booking the appointment that a particular service isn't available.

    Hawk Ridge Therapeutic LLC
After Hawk Ridge's therapist's six tre atments, I have been able to help work around our home, do laundry, grocery shop, cook meals - all the things I was unable to do because of the nerve spasms all the way down my legs. With the scar tissue loosened up, I can move and do my physical therapy exercises.  Hawk Ridge is working with me to make my hips even and the therapist is teaching me how to stretch to help me walk properly.  I have spent five years walking with a cane so my muscles have tightened up on one side and lengthened on the other.  The massages are helping my muscles to respond naturally when I try to walk.
Thank goodness for Hawk Ridge Therapeutics, 1998 Hendersonville Rd., Asheville, NC 28803.

    Acu-Na Wellness Center
I have been going to AcuNa for over two years on a monthly basis.  Mary Houge and the staff at AcuNa have helped me to maintain balance emotionally and physically. By combining massage, acupuncture and herbal medicine, I feel that Mary and AcuNa have helped me achieve and maintain my current great level of well-being.  Mary and Sadhvi are AMAZING body workers!  I go monthly for appointments with Mary for massage, acupuncture, herbal medicine, whatever she feels I need currently.  Yearly, I see Sadhvi on my birthday for her incredible two-hour Native American Healing Session - an auspicious and luxurious birthday celebration!  I love and look forward to my monthly visits as I know I will be supported, nurtured and pampered in just the way I need, and leave feeling relaxed but full of energy to meet the month!  THANK YOU!

HANDS ON HEALTH MASSAGE THERAPY CENTER
Have seen four different massage therapists over the years and Steve is by far the best I've experienced. He is very receptive and attentive to what your particular needs are in the amount of pressure, areas that are in need of extra work etc. His technique is impressive and very effective. Despite my pronounced curvature, Steve was able to work very well at releasing tension in my problem areas. Very grateful to have found such a great therapist that works at relieving my discomfort.

    Cosmic Groove Massage
I've been to this place for massage therapy and reflexology about ten times and it is always excellent. When I call to book I take the first time available that fits my schedule, with no preference for a particular massage therapist. They are all very good. The key is in communicating if the pressure needs to be deeper or lighter, and focus on particular areas if you need that. Their prices are reasonable so everyone can come!

    Shangri-La Day Spa
I got exactly what I wanted....Deep Tissue. It was one of the most intense and effective sessions I've ever had....certainly hits all the problem areas. It is important to communicate with the massage therapist if the treatment is too intense and you need to have her ease up, because she does a great job at deep tissue and you won't want an intense pressure in all areas. The price is great, availability great, and nice clean place. Very pleasant customer service. I highly recommend and will continue coming back as I can when I travel here, as I experience bad chronic lower back pain, especially when traveling.

    Therapeutic Tree
Teresa is highly professional, very good at what she does, every time I have used her services she has helped improve my health and well being. She is at a new location, now at Therapeutic Tree, 485 Hendersonville Rd. Suite 5, Asheville 28803, in the Acupuncture & Wellness Center. She works there alternating Tuesdays and Sundays. Her prices are also as reasonable as I've found in Asheville for the level of and quality of massage she provides.
She knows how and where to apply the right amount of pressure to alleviate the pain or problem going on. I have been using her for 6 months now and wouldn't go anywhere else.

    Advanced Pain Relief Therapy
Prior to my first massage, Zach spent time discussing my issues, concerns important to me, and my overall health objectives.  He demonstrated excellent listening skills, ask excellent questions and offered suggestions. I'm not a medical professional. Based solely on general life experiences, it is my opinion, that he combines the best practices of massage and medical knowledge of the physical body to  give relief to overworked/over stressed muscles, joints etc.
The majority of my experiences over the past 12 months were in the area of low back pain /shoulder and joint pain relief.   Zach  often offered suggestions on steps that I could take on a daily basis to keep the areas of pain at a lessor level.  Every suggestion he gave to me helped.   His techniques eliminated 95% of the shoulder pain from arthritis.  Getting rid of 95% of arthritis pain is, to me, close to  a miracle !   His approach to massage not only addresses your problem area but he also, during the treatment,  works on other area's that may be affecting the area of pain.
I was very  impressed with his self help suggestions so I ask about other programs.  Approximately a month ago I began an exercise program that specifically focused on postural alignment as it related to everyday standing, sitting and walking.   Prior to enrolling in the program I thought that I was doing everything right but I wasn't !!   Zach demonstrated then taught me techniques that improve alignment. These techniques  are also reducing the hidden stress that I was placing on my muscles and bones.  He is an outstanding teacher.  This program goes beyond physical therapy and exercising for health.  It is a remarkable combination of various aspects of health which truly resulted in  a positive effect.  It's unique.
I would highly recommend to anyone researching a massage / a medical massage therapist or wanting to improve posture and balance  to schedule an appointment with Zach.
During my various appointments I've seen people of all ages using his practice.  If you're an AARP member  you will understand when I say that George Burns and Bob Hope would have scheduled Zach.  Burns and Hope  lived beyond any calculated life expectancy chart, believed in the value of massage and?enjoyed life in the process.   If you're not old enough to join AARP then you might want to research  an appointment because it will put you way ahead of the aging game.
Zach fees are very reasonable.  You receive value for money. Zach has a fee scale related to the time spent in a session.   The fee structure ranges from $45.00 for a 30 minute massage up to $105.00 for a 90 minute massage.    It's very easy to use his on line scheduling or you can schedule over the phone.  He's also been voted the #1 Massage Therapist in WNC for the past several years.
Over the  years Members of Angie's list have been extremely helpful to me in selecting various professionals. My thanks to all for the various reviews.  I hope that this review is helpful to you.   Zach Comer is outstanding.  I highly recommend his services.  I will continue to use his services in the future.
