"Dr. was very kind and patient. She was really friendly and I enjoyed talking with her. She ordered a full set of tests for me which were" done about a week later. Soon afterward she sent me a letter including the test results. I did not have any heart issues, but had wanted to get some baseline data because of my paternal history of heart problems. I was impressed with everyone with whom I dealt, both in her office and when having the tests performed. The techs and nurses were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. They also did a super job of explaining every test and making me laugh when I was nervous about tests being performed. I highly recommend both Dr. and the entire staff behind the scenes at Walker Heart Center.

Interventional Cardiology reviews in Asheville

I met with Dr . We went over what was going on and what had been done so far. He examined me. He then explained to me the steps he thought should be taken which was to 1st run a blood test. Then based on the results, he explained the next steps and procedures he would set up. He made me feel very comfortable. He made sure I understood ...More everything. Then he turned & faced me and asked me what questions I had for him. He took his time with me, I never felt rushed. It was the same thing every time his nurse called me to give me my results and to tell me the next step, which was promptly done. I would highly recommend him and his staff.

Dr. spent an hour with us. He pictures of the heart. Explained to my dad where and why his atrial fibrillation occurred and went into great detail about being without symptoms. He didn't want to do jump into an ablation without monitoring my dad's heart for 28 days to see if he does go in and ...More out of the arrhythmia without knowing it's happening. His cardiologist that wanted to do the surgery had never monitored his heart for a continuous amount of time.
So right now my dad is wearing a 28 day telemetry monitor (portable, wireless, very easy to use) which records his heart rate continuously and stores all of the information. If he appears to have any abnormal activity on the monitor it beeps and asks him if he has any symptoms to record. He is also able to record anything abnormal at any point with he thinks may be related to the atrial fibrillation.
My parents are older and have A LOT of physicians. I have never been as impressed with any of them like I have Dr. . He treated us like family. He recognized that my mom and dad didn't "speak" medical and was patient and detailed with them. My dad is able to explain his arrhythmia very easily now. While we don't know yet if he will have to have the surgery, I am so very grateful that we had the opportunity to meet Dr. and potentially prevent my dad from having an unnecessary procedure that may be able to be managed with a less invasive way. He's 75 with other health problems (although he's very active) and surgery always has high risks but especially for his population. This was one of the best decisions we have ever made regarding a physician for either of my parents care. As an RN and as a family member of a patient I would recommend Dr. to ANYONE who requires this kind of care. You always want to make sure your physician is board certified in the specialty that you need to see and not all physician who practice specialties are NOT board certified in them. Whether you see Dr. or not, please take the time to review physicians' board certifications and fellowships.
But I think if you explore more about Dr. because of my recommendation you should absolutely choose him as your physician. I don't know if the practice reads these reviews, but if so, THANK YOU so very much. We appreciate your knowledge and care.

Everything went just as DR. said. I feel great now and I am very happy that I had it done. I feel that he did a great job and would tell anyone to go to him. His bedside manner is great and so is his staff. All my questions and concerns were answered and I was treat wonderful.
- Thomas O.

Quick EKG is run by tech then the doctor goes over the test AND discusses your current health status and reviews medications. Dr. is an aggressive cardiologist and will address any issues that arise from testing.
- Phillip M.

is excellent. They are really phenomenal. He saved me. I see him about every other year. He is knowledgeable, professional and very patient focused. They call and follow up. They don't just shove me out the door. They send follow up letters every year to see how I am doing. My surgery was so successful that I am back to flying little airplanes.
- Harry C.

I see him with Dr. . One is for the rhythm of the heart and one is a surgeon. Each work on their expertise and they are very knowledgeable when they sit down and talk to me about it. They do that on different appointments. They confer with each other to see which is the best treatment or option for me. He is good at what he does. ...More Everybody is really nice. He is very knowledgeable. He explains things very well to me.
- Joan B.

I would definitely recommend Dr. . He is fantastic. He has an excellent bedside manner, he spends a lot of time with patients explaining your condition and all the treatment options. He is really good.
- Jeannie P.

Dr observed that I had a much enlarged left atrial chamber. He recommended for me a new and advanced technique that involved, as best I understood, connecting my heart signals on line while I was anesthetized, to the computer system and staff of a nationally known and used medical organization in San that ...More had developed advanced data-base techniques to more precisely identify the offending heart cells (?) that Dr. would then disable electronically in the usual manner. I was released from the hospital the next day. Result: I have had no recurrences whatsoever of AFIB or atrial flutter in the five months since the February 2012 procedure. Also no other post-procedure problems at all. Dr has been readily available the few times I have needed to contact him. His support staff of other Doctors and Nurses I found to be exceptional. I don't see how this entire procedure could have gone any better for me.

I was told that with my procedure now on the record VCU would be added to the short list of hospitals that could make this technique a standard offering.
