    Dr. Ledford has a great staff from the front desk to the lab and to the hygienists, so I had no trouble getting a convenient appointment and Dr. Ledford is very good at what he does.  Dr. Ledford maintains extraordinarily modern practice equipment and techniques.  Very well done.

    Before beginning the root canal, Dr. Ledford tested the tooth to cold.  I definitely had sensation remaining in the tooth.

    He offered me three options 1) to proceed with the root canal
                                                         2) to adopt a 'wait and see' approach
                                                         3) to send me to an endodontist to have the tooth evaluated - a vitality test
    I chose option 3.  His staff made the initial contact with the office of Dr. Bergman for me.

    Dr. Ledford was wonderful.  He was clear in his approach, and I appreciated his candor.  The staff members with which I interacted were also friendly and helpful, particularly Patti.

    Jennifer Key is a consummate professional.  She evaluated my tooth,
    honestly determined that while she could proceed with the root canal,
    the expense of it may be something I would like to consider in view of
    the fact that the tooth was cracked and hence the "shelf life" if you
    will may be reduced. As Dr. Key put it..."this is not a forever tooth."  
    Being a bit dental phobic her calm, reassuring manner coupled with her
    honest assessment and explanation aided in my making the best long term
    decision for my tooth. 
    I would recommend her without reserve.  She is honest, competent, calming and thoroughly professional.

    The procedure itself went beautifully - I say that fully realizing that any dental care, especially a root canal, is not anyone's idea of a 'beautiful' time. I was made to feel at ease from the beginning and really did not experience any fear or anxiety. The only pain I experienced was the two numbing injections Dr. Key administered. After that it was just a matter of being able to communicate - with my mouth open and dental dam in place. But, Dr. Key was very intuitive about that and could really tell when I was getting ready to ask for more suction (of oral secretions, etc.). And, one thing that I found amusing was that she seems to have developed an ability to understand 'dental chair speak' - that particular language that one mumbles when all the apparatus is in place :-). The billing portion of the dental practice was also very straightforward and efficient. The next morning the dental assistant called me to check on me. And, when I relayed how much inflammation I was experiencing - the office ordered antibiotics right away, to the pharmacy of my choice. The antibiotics did the job and I was in good shape after a couple of days. I would highly recommend Dr. Key to anyone needing a root canal!

    Dr. Barr is incredibly compassionate and thorough. She performed a root canal with great care and attention to my comfort and needs. When the root became infected, which is not all that uncommon, she performed endodontic surgery to repair it. When I experienced considerable pain afterwards, she was immediately responsive to my medication needs. I even accepted a t-shirt that proclaims and quot;I (heart) my endodontist. Kudos to this medical practice!

    I have had several root canals but this was the least painful of all. Dr Key was able to save the tooth. Very gentle person and compassionate and professional. Would I use her again? Absolutely!

    .Of course I was glad to save the tooth.  I asked her clerk, Cindy, about filing insurance.  She would not file nor would she give me a form so I could file.  I called my insurance company, and they sent me the form.  I filled it out and returned it.  The insurance asked for additional information.  I mailed the request to Dr Key's office and they responded to the insurance company.  Insurance responded directly to her with a check for half the amount.  When I got the notice for insurance paid to her I emailed  her that she should mail me a check since I had already paid her in full.  I  got no response, so I called her office and found out that she had mailed the check back.  Her office did not do me the courtesy of letting me know that I would not be reimbursed by her.  The whole thing has been upsetting...the fact that they did not let me know they would not accept dental insurance, adamantly demanding cash up front even though she had be assured by primary care that I was good for making the payment as soon as possible.  She has shown no heart for her patients.  And this is sure, if I need another root canal, I will go to India if necessary, but not to to Dr J Key.   She has no people care knowledge.

    I was extremely nervous about my appointment.  I have a great fear of dentists and the like.  She put me at ease right from the start.  Her bedside manner is wonderful!  I needed additional local anesthesia for the tooth because of the severity of the problem.  She wasn't able to finish the job in one sitting, but brought me back the following week to get it all done.  I still have some sensitivity in the tooth, which causes me pain from time to time.

    She is very positive and upbeat.  She will give us the straight scoop, but she will tell us what she is going to do to correct the situation.  She will tell us honestly what it is going to feel like and what the dentist it is going to be and it is sometimes funny.  She carries nothing while she is taking care of us.  Under her breath, I have never had a dentist like this.  She had a radio station in 1980s or 1990s, and she seems to know all the lyrics and she sings it and I find that funny.  It makes us less scary.  She is so humorous and I think that is a good thing when someone who is giving us root canal and that is just great, and she is pretty painless.  She has a very sensitive touch.  I look forward to root canals.
