"Dr. is approachable and friendly, yet to the point. I really like that in a doctor. I don't want to be told "well this might" happen and there is a change that we can do this for you." I want to hear the bad news as well as the good. And that's what I got at his office. His staff is amazing. They deal with women all day who are desperate for a child. It takes a certain bedside manner to handle that well, in my opinion. Getting pregnant was not my goal. Getting well was. Dr. gave me reasonable goals and reasonable expectations. I ended up exceeding those thanks to him. He was my biggest fan during that time but never made me feel bad if I slipped up from time to time on what I was supposed to be doing. I have nothing negative to say. Dr. does not deal with insurance, but his office is very accommodating towards those who need creative ways to finance treatment. At the end of the day I was actually glad that insurance was not involved. Its the way the practice of medicine used to be and there was none of the fighting with insurance companies or wondering if things had been billed correctly by his office. Everything was discussed up front and was planned out in advance.

"Dr. seemed disinterested in me from the moment he walked in. Even though previous labs showed no sign of diabetes, he seemed to believe all" of my trouble was based on diabetes issues. I had the strong feeling that he believed the pain was all in my head and had no real cause. He did not order any labs. Unsatisfied with the meeting, I requested another referral from my Primary Care doctor. I was able to see Dr. with Asheville Endocrinology Associates who several labs which clearly revealed an autoimmune thyroid disorder. I would highly recommend Asheville Endocrinology to anyone struggling with thyroid issues.
