I've never had any trouble getting her. She also gave me her cell phone number which blew my mind. I worked in field and nutrition for a University and when I found out they had an RD I was pleased. I had 3rd stage kidney disease and you have to stay on a diet. I can figure that out myself but at the same time I have been retired 11 years so I thought maybe I should take care of the service and my insurance company pays for it. You can always learn something new. I went to a class that she had, they had classes on how to deal with this chronic illness. WIth kidney disease it's forever and you learn to live with it and and you learn to control your behavior to make it work with you. The fact that they have a good team there I think is extremely important. You are assigned a doctor so you don't get a different person every time, but yet they can consult when they need to. Having a dietician there is wonderful and I know I can call her anytime. I will be making a call to her soon to check on a couple things. They also have the classes and it's up to you if you want to go or not, you're in a room with 40 people in a similar situation that you are in. I was the only one in the room that didn't have diabetes. You really learn a lot and in a way it's kind of group therapy.

Dr. Edwards was very friendly and although I decided not to go thru with the program I was still refunded my deposit.

When through the program to prepare for the surgery. Started by going on diet and losing 35 pounds before the surgery. Did the Rounx-en Y Grastric Bypass at Mission Hospital. Everything has been going great, lossed 130 pounds in 9 months. Have gained back 15 pounds in 5 years. Still the surgery worked very well. Dr. Edwards is a great caring person that will take very good care of you.
