    Finch, Sharon
She is the most caring, loving and compassionate person I have ever met. She really cares about her patients. She listens. She is very attentive. I was lucky to have her. I have a fantastic relationship with her. She is great. She is a good person to talk to. It is just that her availability is sometimes difficult. You cannot see her in a short notice.

    George, Dr. Kevin W.
Dr. George had clearly read all the papers I filled out. He began to talk to me and quickly drew out of me some information that pointed to my diagnosis. He then presented me with the entry for Asperger's Disorder in the DSM IV TR (the current edition of the Bible for psychiatric diagnoses). I looked at the entry and found that most of the criteria applied to me. For this diagnosis, it is not necessary to meet all of the criteria, but a threshold number. This was my diagnosis. I had seen a number of psychiatrists and psychologists over the preceding 30 years. Not one ever mentioned a word about Asperger's. It was a great relief to have a name and a theoretical framework for understanding my problems. Dr. George figured this out in about 10 min. Amazing! There is no cure or targeted treatment (such as there are for diabetes and hypertension) for Asperger's. The best that can be done is to approach it indirectly and help the patient to cope with it as well as possible. I am a very tough nut to crack. Dr. George had to try numerous medications and combinations of medications to help me. He also emphasized that taking pills alone is not enough. The goal of psychiatry is to change the mind for the better, not just pump in chemicals. He also worked on psychotherapy with me. This was not easy for either one of us. I was diagnosed at 44 years of age. A lot of problems had built up. The biggest problem was that my mind was running away from me. I couldn't slow it down enough to use its potential for constructively addressing my problems through my mind, a necessary thing. The medications slowed my mind down enough to enable me to engage adequately with Dr. George's psychotherapy and help myself use what he was giving me. This took time. After seeing Dr. George, I was hit with the biggest crisis of my life. I could not have gotten through it had the previous treatment not improved and fortified me. Neither could I have made it through without Dr. George's ongoing help. Dr. George saved me from utter ruin. He has always been there for me when I needed him and has done outstanding work. Today, I am better off than either one of us had thought possible. Dr. George is head and shoulders above the rest of the psychiatric pack.

    George, Dr. Kevin W.
I have found Dr. George to be an excellent diagnostician and psychopharmacologist.  He has helped me when no one in 20+ years has been able to provide effective treatment.  His personal life, which has become public, is disturbing.  However it has not affected my treatment.

    Lavigne, Dr. Gregory L
It's hard to get an appointment with this doctor, but I guess I got lucky. He is very nice and, unlike other psychiatrists, actually does psychotherapy. I found him to be supportive and insightful.

    Gordon, Dr. Carin R.
It went great! Carin is a great listener. She asks great leading questions and is very genuine in her approach. I feel comfortable talking with her and feel that she is giving me exceptional care.

This guy is great. His office manner is really good. He's very knowledgeable. He's very caring and willing to work with the patient. He lets you talk. I read a lot about this lately with doctors. If you don't stop talking within 15 seconds, they are going to interrupt you. I give him an A for everything. He's absolutely the best.

She was easy to talk to and provided frank information about the pros and cons of the different medications and their effectiveness/side effects.

I go to the Psychiatrist to manage my meds and the Psychologist for counseling. I sing their praises. They really seem to know what they are doing. They are both very good. They are both very good listeners and they seem very professional. The office and staff is very good.

    George, Dr. Kevin W.
I have had really bad experiences with other healthcare professionals. He is caring, he is listening. He has a good sense of humor. He is respectful to the patient and in my case, to the other family member. He seems to be very well informed, and without the arrogance that I've seen in so many other professionals.

    Deborah Coen MD
I found Dr. Coen to be easy to talk to and engaged. Her diagnoses were right on following a thorough evaluation. As I went in with medications that were already working at a maintenance level and just need monitoring now, I cannot comment on her prescribing. After 2 visits I will definitely be continuing.
