Definitely a "Fly By Night" kind of deal here. No contract. No follow up. The Adam guy who you leave a message with took days to get back to me and even after he agreed to the work I didn't hear back. I actually was somewhat surprised they showed up. They tore up an really expensive couch and refused to try and move another through a tight opening. The worst is after I paid cash, the movers wouldn't give a receipt on the spot for the move. I've texted this Adam a dozen times and at the same time he promises to send a receipt he also claims he's too busy because of work and family commitments to issue one. I can't get reimbursed for the move without one. I would avoid this shady bunch or you will get burned!

I was impressed with Adam when 1st speaking with him and the price seemed fair. I had every scheduled so the job would be completed well before the closing date of 11/30. POD was delivered on Saturday,11/25, movers on Monday, 11/27 and POD picked up on Tuesday afternoon the 28th. Monday morning after waiting over an hour, I called Adam to see why they hadn't shown up. He said they should have been there by now and he was going to check. When Adam called back he told me that there had been an argument between the two that had even turned physical. He promised that he would be there Tuesday morning. This was 9:30 Monday morning and I felt there was time to schedule other workers. I stayed in a hotel Monday night and when I arrived at home the next morning, I saw two guys on my front doorstep. There wasn't a vehicle in sight. When I asked them that, they said they parked way up the street. I felt very uneasy specially after hearing what happened the day before. I didn't know if these were the same two from the day before. I did however, let them in. Adam did call me and I missed the call by 3 minutes. I called back and left a message asking him to return my call, he did not. After a short while, they asked me if I had any tools. Just like having no vehicle, they hadn't brought anything to work with. Thank goodness my toolbox was still at the house. I found this very unprofessional. When they were finished, one of them called Adam to check on what to charge me. They gave me a price of $360.00 with no break down of cost, hourly rates, etc. Then I was asked if I was paying in cash. I did not and wrote them a check. I found the whole experience unprofessional and very stressful. Because I did not know how long it would take to load everything, I had to cancel the pick up of the POD on Tuesday afternoon. The next scheduled pickup was in 2 days. It was still there on Thursday the 30th and became an issue at closing. I will not be hiring them back for the unloading and I just hope that all the hardware for everything they took apart is easily found. Because I did not know

Montway Auto Transport did a fine job getting our car transported from upstate New York to Southern California. The car was picked up on time, delivered on the date promised, and, other than some grime, arrived in good shape. I do have a complaint, however, about the $75 additional fee which I paid for top-loading on the auto transport trailer. It turned out that our car was transported by train across the country so there was no need for it to be protected from road hazards! I did not learn this from Montway, however, but from the shipper. Had I known the car would be transported by train, I would not have paid the additional fee. When I asked Montway for a refund, they refused. It turned out that this was $75 down the drain for another reason as well. The top-loading which the customer pays for ONLY APPLIES TO THE MAIN SHIPPER NOT TO THE LOCAL TRANSPORT, something Montway is not forthright about on their website. Montway also neglected to inform us that they have a very expansive understanding of “local transport.” The terminal from which the cross-country train left was in Kearny, New Jersey – 150 miles from Albany, New York where we met the local driver. (I learned this information from the shipper not from Montway who gave me a number of evasive and/or incorrect answers during several discussions.) Our car was placed on the lower level on the small auto transport trailer even though it had an upper deck for one car and we had paid for top-loading. To make a long story short, on the 150 miles out of the 3000 plus mile trip when top-loading would have been useful, our car didn’t get it even though we had paid for this option. A complete waste of money!

Excellent. 5 movers: Frank, Snoop, Jay, Christian and Bruce arrived on time, worked hard and finished in less time than estimated, saving us a lot of money. They were polite, professional, exceptionally hard working and accommodating. We wanted a lot of heavy items stored in our basement which had a tight turn to access. They managed to get everything where we wanted it without a scratch. I can not speak highly enough about their services. Truly exceptional.

The truck came three hours late, and I had to call them to find out why they were late - one of the trucks had a mechanical problem and that caused the delay. They used a different (rented) truck which they weren't used to and when they backed it up at my new house they left giant gouges in the lawn where the tires ripped apart the grass. The men were polite and fairly accommodating, though I felt pressured the entire time to remove things from the moving list (like my riding lawnmower) to make things go faster since they had started so late. They did put together one dresser with a mirror when they got to the new house, but took apart lamps to move them and left them in pieces in a giant box, and left beds downstairs for me to put together, though they never told me they were going to do that. It may have been a misunderstanding on my part, but I thought everything would be put back together. A friend moved the lawnmower for me later along with a bunch of other stuff that didn't make it into the truck. To be fair, moving is not fun under the best of circumstances and that was a very stressful day so that may also color my view of Don's.

DO NOT WORK WITH MULLEN. Luckily we figured out how terrible they were before having to sign paperwork, so we did not end up using them. They sent a rep to our house to do a furniture inventory which went pretty well. But then it went downhill when I tried to book them as movers. In order to receive the paperwork I had to call 3 days in a row just to talk to someone who could confirm whether or not our date worked. Then when I received the paperwork, my name and address were incorrect, and the furniture inventory was also incorrect (several items were listed that we did not own). When I asked the person on the phone if Mullen had a satisfaction guarantee or could ensure everything would work out, she did not answer. I asked her this twice and both times, she did not say anything about the company ensuring the service would be satisfactory. This did not give us confidence that we would be able to have a smooth moving experience. I later got an email from a person named Marylynn about why we had not signed the paperwork. First of all, I had already sent them an email saying we would not be signing, so this just further showed their disorganization. When I told her why we wouldn't be signing (I gave all the reasons listed above), I never received a response. Again, it is clear that none of the employees believe in or care about the reputation of their company. I'm sure their service is horrible so I would never use them.

Purchased furniture on June 20th and scheduled the move with Al of Ashline. Al said that June was their busiest month. That would be going on vacation on July 1st. Al further stated that he would do the move on July 10th--that he would pick it up on his way home. I believed him. I gave all the information to the sellers and confirmed with Ashline. Waited patiently on July 10th to no avail. When I called, the man who answered was rude, would not listen and hung up on me.Called back and left a pleading message on the machine. Spent the rest of the day looking for another mover. Finally, at 4:00PM, I was able to hired another mover and had to pay a higher rate. On Tuesday the 11th, I called again and was mistreated again. Today, the 12th, I did find my notes with Al's name. This time the man who answered at Ashline was taken aback and said he would have the owner, a woman, call me at the end of the day. When that did not happen, I called around 4:30PM. A woman answered but said she was not the owner and was not familiar with my concern. After explaining, the woman apologized and said she was sorry, but that was of no help to me. No one should ever engage this company again.

Very reliable, able to get a move competed from Albany NY to Omaha NE in a few days. All others wanted to add the load to another truck and wait a week or so. Very helpful in picking up extra pieces that needed to be moved. Handled everything carefully, minimal damage.

I can't say enough good things about my experience with Moving on Movers and Chad! Chad was quick to respond with information I requested, he answered all questions and when I decided to go with his company he made sure I had all the information I needed. Movers arrived a few minutes early on a Sunday morning, walked through the house with us to see what we would be moving(we only had them move large pieces of furniture) and then they got to work. They were quick, efficient and friendly. They even offered to take more than planned for them to take because they had to room and had the whole truck packed in about an hour! Unpacking went just as smoothly, they moved things where we wanted them in the room and attached anything we needed to be put together. A great price, a great company, would defiantly use them again!
