Former Senior Editor
Angie's List

Former senior editor Hugh Vandivier brought his extensive writing and editing experience to Angie's List. He spent his undergrad days at Wabash College and earned his master's at Northwestern’s Medill School of Journalism.

Hugh has contributed to USA Swimming’s Splash Magazine, Indianapolis Monthly, Wabash Magazine and NUVO. And, yes, he managed to snag an interview with Kurt Vonnegut, Jr.

He's a board member and past president of the Indianapolis Association of Wabash Men. He has the great misfortune of being a Cubs fan, which is mollified by his love of the Indianapolis Colts and Indiana Pacers. He thoroughly enjoys great food, swimming, eclectic music, trusted friends and sparkling conversation.

Fun Facts

The next provider I need to hire from the List is
a general physician. I've been with my doc since I was born, but he has retired to Arizona.
If I were a service provider, I'd be a
fitness trainer, but then, I'd have to get back in shape first!
Something I learned while researching a story for Angie's List
is that lumens are replacing watts as the measure of brightness in light bulbs.
The worst service provider experience I've ever had was
with a mechanic outside of Chicago when I was in college. It took them forever to fix, and I had to stay up an extra night because one guy said they took AmEx, but the manager wouldn't accept it.
The best service provider I've found on the List was
the guy who sold me my last car. He's a real pro.
