Wireless service disappoints Raleigh customer
[Six Forks Road, Raleigh]
Didn't respond to Tom Rhoads' request to cancel his phone contracts with no penalty because he says he has trouble getting a good signal.
COMPLAINT: Tom Rhoads, Raleigh, N.C.
"I'm extremely dissatisfied with every part of the T-Mobile Wireless [on Six Forks Road in Raleigh] experience.
"My wife works at the airport and she literally has no service. While we were trying to figure out why our coverage was so poor, the time to return the phone free of charge ran out.
"I spoke with them recently and all they could tell us was that no one had the authority to do anything and apologized about our having a bad experience. The only thing they could do is charge us $200 to terminate our service.
"When I'm sitting next to a large window in my office on the east side of Raleigh, I receive about one out of four calls. The three that don't go through go straight to voice mail or the phone doesn't ring.
"We took a trip to Cincinnati and only had emergency calling for about two-thirds of the trip.
"I've traveled to the Pittsburgh area and also received "emergency calling only" service. On a recent trip to South Bend, Ind., I had several calls go directly to voice mail with no ring. It's been a totally awful experience.
"I wouldn't recommend T-Mobile to anyone in the Raleigh area who expects to have any kind of service. We've been complaining to them since about two weeks after the plans started.
"No one working for T-Mobile takes responsibility for anything."
DESIRED RESOLUTION: "I want them to cancel our two phone contracts with no penalty."
STATUS: Penalty Box
