Why you should use a Los Angeles travel agent
Are you thinking about vacationing in Hawaii? You’re not alone. Hawaii is one of the most popular vacation destinations in the world, especially with Los Angeles residents.
However, many who are unfamiliar with the Hawaiian Islands find it difficult to plan a vacation on their own. That’s where a Los Angeles travel agency comes in.
Eric Kang, president of highly rated Great Hawaii Vacations in Thousand Oaks, Calif., explains how vacationers can benefit from using a travel agent rather than using the Internet to plan their getaway.
“Every one of our agents has been to and is familiar with the Islands,” Kang says. “We use our personal experience to figure out what a client wants, what their needs are and what the budget is. Then we can give them suggestions to help them make an informed decision.”
It’s as simple as telling the agent what you want out of your vacation, whether it’s activities for the whole family or experiencing the nightlife. The agent will provide suggestions for you regarding which island you should visit, where you should stay and activities you might enjoy based on your personal needs.
Besides the personal experience and knowledge they offer, Los Angeles travel agents are there to help you through your whole trip, not just the planning process.
"People don’t realize the benefits of using a travel agent until something goes wrong,” Kang says.
If something were to go wrong, like there is a mix up with your hotel reservation or you miss your flight back home, your agent is there to help you solve those problems. Without an agent, those events can be difficult and costly to correct.
Many people seem to think that it’s cheaper to book a vacation themselves than to hire a travel agent, but Kang says that’s not the case. Travel agents, especially those with personal knowledge of your destination, can sniff out discounts and deals that you may miss on your own. They have direct contracts with airlines and hotels that allow them to book flights and hotels at a price lower than is available to the public.
They also use wholesalers or consolidators that offer airfare and hotels in bundles, which come at very low prices. Los Angeles travel agents use these methods to help them plan your trip for you in a very cost effective way.
“Why wouldn’t you want to get all that without having to pay more?” Kang asks.
