Who Makes a Better Fiberglass Door, Mastercraft from Menards or Feather River from Home Depot?

Question by Michellemiller: Who makes a better fiberglass door, Mastercraft from Menards or Feather River from Home Depot? Need to replace my entry doors and not sure which company sells the better door. Menards is cheaper, but I'm more about the quality.
Answered by LCD: Mastercraft is made by (at least fairly recently) by Midwest Manufacturing out of, oh where is it - Racine or Eau Claire or some such place in Wisconsin - been around making builder grade and better doors and decking and such (started out in trusses, as I recall) since about the early 70's. I have used their products more than a few times without any unusual quality problems.
Feather River used to be a high-end cabinetry and door/window company out of Oregon with an excellent reputation, but they grew too fast (probably partly related to getting into selling to Home Depot) so went belly up maybe a decade or a bit less ago, Now they appear, from their webssite, to be a captive Home Depot supplier, selling only through them. Whether Home Depot actually owns them I was not able to find with a quick search. I have not used their products since their failure, but google for complaints and there seem to be a lot of unresolved problem complaints with their products, as with many Home Depot services and products.
Here are a couple of related questions addressing fiberglass doors FYI - personally, I would recommend steel for exterior doors or wood for interior - I just don't see any advntage in buying fiberglass, because it is little more secure than wood, and weathers more and does not hold paint as well as steel. I stay away from fiberglass - and vinyl and PVC too because of similar poor performance in prolonged sunlight exposure and because of poor to very poor paint holding properties - as well as quite poor performance in very cold climates (cracking).
