Westfield remodeling contractor accused of shoddy work
COMPLAINT: Barbara Dalton, Carmel
"Quality Countertops of Westfield redid my kitchen counters and cabinets. When they started the work, I noticed there were quite a few discrepancies. The tops of the cabinets bow out and are incorrectly aligned — you can see inside them when they're closed. A few of the counter drawers are misaligned and won't close correctly. They stated I could leave the lights on low and no one would be the wiser. I've made multiple calls for them to come and fix the problems, but I haven't received any replies."
DESIRED RESOLUTION: "I want them to fix the cabinets and refund some of my money."

COMPLAINT: Mark Korkos, Indianapolis
"I traded in a paid-off 2002 Chevy Malibu and bought a 2003 Avalanche at Bart's Car Store. Within one month, the truck had significant problems. They had said they would fix anything within reason, but they didn't honor their word. When I called in, they said they had overpromised me their verbal word. Their upper management wouldn't return my calls. They're crooks."
DESIRED RESOLUTION: "As promised, I want the leather on the driver's seat, the trailer hitch receiver and the front speaker repaired, and I want the front and rear bumpers replaced."

"At Bart's Car Store, any promises made are put in writing on our 'Due Bill.' As this signed form states, we promised new tires, which we replaced, and specifically stated 'nothing else promised or due.' Because the member purchased the truck 12 months ago, we can't participate in the small items of repair."
Another brick in the wall
COMPLAINT: Corlis Bell, Indianapolis
"I hired Kwallity Brick Masonry to redo the brick work on my house. The work reached a stopping point because they had to wait for ordered concrete to come. They asked me to pay them in full since they did most of the work. I agreed because they did satisfactory work to that point. Since then, they made several promises to show, and they've failed to keep those promises. I paid them in good faith based on a good job up to the point the project was paused. Now, I haven't received the remaining work I paid for. They should have completed the work by now."
DESIRED RESOLUTION: "I want them to complete the job."

"The work was scheduled to begin one and a half weeks from the time of the deposit to allow me to locate matching brick and acquire other materials. I placed an order for limestone in this time, but the paperwork was misplaced, which delayed the stone from being ready. I reordered and [the supplier's] saw was down at the time, delaying the order again for two weeks. Most orders do take three to six weeks."
COMPLAINT: Fred Ralston, Indianapolis
"I took my 2006 Monte Carlo to the Shadeland Avenue Sparkling Image Car Wash to get it washed. When my car went through, the wash scratched all four of my rims. I learned from a dealership that the damage was from the wash and not a factory defect. The dealership's service department manager and I went to the car wash and saw another vehicle get scratched. Sparkling Image's manager told me there's nothing they can do."
DESIRED RESOLUTION: "I want the cost to repair or replace all four of my rims."
