West Palm Beach-area car repair shops keep members happy

Here’s the latest Post of Happiness for great service from West Palm Beach auto repair shops as selected by the Angie’s List Newsroom staff.

Bob Davis Auto Repair, Lake Worth, Fla.

Bob Davis Auto Repair provided exceptional service in a nick of time for Jay Primack. “When I arrived at the shop, I was immediately greeted and asked what I needed,” Primack says. “Although it was apparent that they were busy working on several other vehicles, they had me bring my car to their driveway and promptly had someone look at my tire. They removed the nail and plugged the tire on the spot. The service charge was nominal, and I received excellent attention and service. This is a model for the way business should be done. Their shop is located about 30 minutes from my residence, but in my opinion was well worth the drive. I will definitely do business with this company again when the need arises.”

Royal Palm Automotive Services. West Palm Beach, Fla.

Royal Palm Automotive Services repairs sent Todd Rubenstein home with a perfectly running car. “The performance of Royal Palm Automotive could not have been better,” Rubenstein says. “They did exactly what they said they would do, when they said they would do it, and charged exactly the amount of the estimate given before any work was done. I feel confident they did all the work needed in the situation I presented and only the work needed. My car was running poorly when I went to them. When I left a few hours later, the problem was 100 percent gone. They provided the solution to my problem and that is what I want to see in my contractors. Good Job!”

Japanese Auto Care, Boca Raton, Fla.

Japanese Auto Care’s air conditioner repair prevented Lawrence and Barbara Hill from melting in the south Florida heat. “We can’t say enough about the customer friendliness of this business,” the Hills say. “They are very customer oriented. Immediately after getting an oil change at a nearby Nissan dealership, the air conditioning just happened to quit on me. You fill in the blanks. Not wanting to go back to that dealer, we consulted Angie’s List and found Japanese Auto Center. It was a bit of a ride, but since they were so highly regarded by other customers, we decided to try them. The air conditioner problem entailed tracing a mysterious leak somewhere. Through the use of blue dye, they found broken O-Rings in the firewall caused the leak. They had to do some extra work on it, but they stuck with the original price and several days later, I still have nice chilly air conditioning for this hot south Florida weather. They do everything as if you were one of their own family members and are top notch from A to Z. Work was performed right and customer service was above and beyond. Thank you Japanese Auto.”

East Coast Automotive Services, Jupiter, Fla.

East Coast Automotive Services reassured James Hauser his van operated normally after another repair shop shook his confidence. “I asked East Coast Automotive to check our van over after having a bad experience with another auto service shop,” Hauser says. “We wanted to make sure that the other shop did a good job after having to take it back to them twice after initially taking it in for a tune-up. It was frustrating that a simple tune-up could lead to the engine problems we were experiencing. After the first shop was done with the repairs, my wife and I were concerned that things still might not be right with the vehicle, so we wanted to have another shop check the van over and brought it in to East Coast Auto. The folks at East Coast Auto were great! They took the time to listen to the problems we had with our vehicle at the other shop and to explain to us what they found after they completed their work. It turned out that things were OK. The van ran normally and that the mechanic didn’t find any problems. He put my concerns to rest and didn’t even charge us for the work. I couldn’t ask for a better experience after the trouble I had earlier!”
