Washington D.C.-area cleaner saves carpet after messy tenant

Whether you live north in Silver Spring or south in Alexandria, you’re looking for great service, especially if you're confronted with stained or dirty carpets.

Here’s the latest Post of Happiness for great service from Washington D.C.-area carpet cleaners as selected by the Angie’s List Newsroom staff.

The messy tenant

Tatiana Batalska didn’t have to replace her carpet after a cleaning by Hew’s Carpet Care of Lorton, Va. “I have a basement apartment, and my tenant had just moved out,” Batalska says. “When I first saw the place without their clothes covering the floor, all I could think was, ‘Wow! They did this in only 12 months of living here!’ I really didn’t know that people could get the carpet so dirty and covered with so many spots in only one year of living there.

"I thought I would have to replace the carpet, especially in the bedrooms, which was a light beige originally," she says. "But the original color couldn’t be seen any more except for a nice, clean rectangle where their bed used to be. He came on time and within two hours was able to almost restore the carpets to their previous condition. I could not believe it when I saw the final result.”

Beyond expectations

Mighty Clean Carpet Care of Manassas, Va. restored Khalil Nammour’s faith in service providers. “I recently bought a home, and the upstairs and basement carpets looked like they’d seen better days,” Nammour says. “After reading the reviews on Angie’s list, we decided to choose Mighty Clean.

"Co-owner Mike Furcron constantly asked if I had questions or comments about the process. I asked him to clean around furniture, yet he moved some of the furniture, cleaned under it and then replaced in the original location. That was more than I asked or expected. Finally, he pointed out that I could save more money by applying an Angie’s List coupon.”

Deft cleaning of carpet and furniture

Natura Care of Sterling, Va. deftly cleaned Kurt Runge’s furniture and carpet. “I have two dogs and the furniture and carpet really did need professional attention,” Runge says. “The sofa, loveseat and ottoman now look new again.

"I was surprised that the cushions were dry and ready to use the next day," he says. "The carpet had a number of stains that were removed. I paid extra for stain protection for the carpet, which seems to be worthwhile.”

Out, out, Spot's spots!

The flexibility of Express Dry Carpet Cleaning of Rockville, Md. impressed Katie Spoonire. “Since I am a townhouse owner they allowed me to substitute my stairs and hallways for a room,” Spoonire says. “My carpets look great afterward, and I was able to point out spots of concern that the technician worked hard to treat individually, so I could have the best result possible. Any time that I pointed out another area of concern the technician never reacted annoyed. Instead, he smiled and gave attention to the site.

"I have a 90-pound German shepherd that has been in the house since 8-weeks-old, and all the puppy stages and messes are barely noticeable. Thank you for a great Big Deal, Angie’s List.”
