Upholsterer redresses 80-year-old tuxedo sofa
This month, we’re spotlighting a review from member Andrea O’Neill of Cincinnati, who shared great details and photos about her sofa reupholstery project performed by Cox Upholstering of Cincinnati. Angie’s List reviews like this one are especially helpful because they include all the particulars along with great before and after photos, which let members know why you think they should hire or steer clear of a company. So the next time you submit a review, don’t spare the details or the visuals!
Here’s what O’Neill had to say about her experience:
"I inherited this sofa from my parents. It was their first sofa and is from the 1930s. I’d had it reupholstered three times previously; however, nobody ever did justice to it the way Mr. Robert Cox did. He’s a craftsman from the old school — very knowledgeable and meticulous. I even paid a visit during the reconstruction and got to see all the springs, webbing and tying. I got it back several months ago and it still looks new, partially because we don’t let our golden retriever recline on it any longer, but primarily because of Mr. Cox’s workmanship.
"My husband used to hate the sofa because when he sat on it, he sank almost to the floor. It’s now one of his favorite places to sit. It remains nice, tight and very comfortable. Our two grown sons are astonished at the transformation."
