Tucson TV repair shop refunds money
COMPLAINT: Regina Cottrell, Chandler
"Walt's TV and Home Theater came to repair my TV. They commented on its age and tried to sell me a new one. They didn't fix it, but when they unplugged my DVD player, they broke the connector housing. When I contacted the company a few days later — after I noticed the DVD player wasn't working — they immediately denied it and said they weren't responsible."
DESIRED RESOLUTION: "I'd like a refund within 30 days for the repair cost of $107.67."
COMPLAINT: Jenny Chen, San Diego
"I called Low Rates Appliance Repair to repair my refrigerator. I agreed to pay them $45 to defrost it. After they left, I realized the refrigerator wasn't defrosted. I even waited for a few hours and the refrigerator was as warm as before."
"I want a $45 refund."
Elena Obodzinskaya, manager, Low Rates Appliance Repair
"The customer OK'd the repair and [then] declined it after we started taking the unit apart. She only paid a service fee of $45 for diagnosis. She can't request to have a technician come back to defrost her refrigerator."
