Trusted local repair shops keep these San Antonio car owners cruising
Whether you live in Timberwood Park, New Braunfels or downtown San Antonio, you need a trusted local mechanic to take care of your car.
Here’s the latest Post of Happiness for great service from San Antonio auto repair shops as selected by the Angie’s List Newsroom staff.
Caliber Collision, Schertz, Texas
When Richard Bush and his wife both got into accidents within two weeks of each other, their BMW and Nissan bumpers needed some TLC. “Wow, what can’t I say about Caliber collision?,” he says. “I was rear ended and hit the car in front of me, destroying my rear and front bumpers and my trunk pan.
Working with Dillon Britton from Caliber was absolutely wonderful from beginning to end. From our first meeting to go over the damage to my vehicle until the final pickup Dillon was professional, courteous, extremely punctual and most importantly honest.
Dillon called me at least once a day to let me know how the repairs were going on my vehicle. He even worked late one night just so I could come in after work and get something out of my vehicle.
This was the first car accident I was involved in, and he gave me a ton of information on what to expect and how to get my life back to normal as far as my vehicle was concerned.
My wife’s car was actually assigned to another customer rep at Caliber, but anytime I had any question or needed anything Dillon had the answer. He was completely honest throughout the whole process even when there were delays.
His customer service went a long way with me, and I actually ended up recommending Caliber to one of my coworkers who ended up having nothing but praise for them also. If you’re looking for quality auto body work look no further than Caliber Collision on I-35.”
Start to Finish Paintless Dent Removal, San Antonio
When Anna Richardson needed a large dent removed from her truck’s fender, she turned to someone who promptly gave her an estimate. “The staff there answered all the questions I had,” she says. “They were able to schedule the work quickly and on a day that worked best for me.”
“When they called me and told me my truck was ready, I couldn’t wait to go see it. When I got there I was extremely pleased with the way that the dent turned out and would highly recommend Start To Finish to anyone. I even got an estimate for some hail damage on my other vehicle and will definitely be returning to have that fixed in the near future.”
Bracken Collision Center, San Antonio
Flawless repairs on two vehicles has Sam Hall tooting his horn. “Following a multi-car pile up in my driveway, they repaired two of our vehicles that had a little more than minor bumper damage,” he says. “We went to several places for estimates on our two vehicles damaged in a friendly fire incident at home.
This was a non-insurance repair, and the cost was still very reasonable. The right rear bumper of my wife’s Mazda 6 and the left front bumper of my Chevy Tahoe both needed repairs. The damage was 100 percent undetectable.
They did a great job cleaning up the entire car, and you can just tell they care about your business. They are personable, professional and you just feel like you are giving your money to a good bunch of guys.
Don’t let the shop fool you. It’s a little back off the road and sort of north of the ‘usual suspects,’ but it’s worth the drive. We had two repairs done, not just one. Any company can luck into doing a good job once. These guys showed consistency in quality of repair and clean up of the car, as well as being on time both times. Give them a try, you won’t be sorry.”
EKG Gaston’s Automotive, San Antonio
Mechanics do more than just oil changes and repairs, says Daryl Johanson. “I’ve been taking my car to EKG for about two years,” he says. “Eddie Verstegen is extremely knowledgeable, but best of all, he’s very good at making recommendations for work that your car really needs.
You won’t be sold anything that is not essential. He’s 100 percent trustworthy. My friend lost her ring in her car. I called Eddie to see if he would help her find it. He had all the tools and lights to look in all the nooks and crannies of her car, but the ring wasn’t in there. He didn’t charge her one penny.
If you want to go to a mechanic who will keep your car running very well, and who will always deal with you honestly, go to EKG. My daughter and my sister also take their cars to him.”
