Toledo condo owner says house cleaners made themselves at home
I hired A Cut Above of Columbus, Ohio, to prepare my rental unit to be ready for market. They were to tear out carpet, pad and tack strips, apply an odor ban to eliminate cat odors, clean the unit, and do touch-ups and odds and ends to make it a good rental.
They arrived late the first day and did very little work. I gave them a spare key to let themselves in and out to work on it for the two weeks I would be out of town. I was in constant communication with them, and they said they were too busy to work on the condo. I heard from someone that they appeared to be living there.
When I returned, nothing had been done for the past two weeks. The place was a mess, with cigarette butts on the floors and a dirty microwave and refrigerator. They had obviously been living there. I had paid for some supplies, and they took the supplies with them when they left. I left messages for them, and they never responded.
I would like them to refund $400 and do the work they promised.

Have a complaint?
Our Angie’s List complaint resolution team attempts to resolve disputes between members and service providers. During this process, three outcomes can happen: Penalty Box, Resolved or Stalemate. Companies that don’t respond to a member’s complaint will be placed in the Penalty Box until they respond. A case becomes Resolved if a company addresses the complaint to the member’s satisfaction, or it becomes a Stalemate if the provider responds, but the company and the member can’t reach an agreement.
