These Tampa dentists come to patients' rescue
Whether you live in Sarasota, Clearwater or St. Pete, you’re looking for great service, especially regarding your family’s dental care.
Here’s the latest Post of Happiness for great service from Tampa dentists as selected by the Angie’s List Newsroom staff.
St. Pete dentist fills in nicely
Donna Brown praises Dr. Kenneth Grundset and the team at Daxon & Grundset Dentistry of St. Petersburg, Fla. for some emergency help when a filling fell out and her regular dentist couldn’t fit her into the schedule. “I was impressed since I wasn’t an ongoing client,” she says. “Dr. Grundset was fabulous. He discussed my understanding of tooth decay and dental procedures, and her was very gentle.
"I’ve been thinking of changing dentists, and I knew immediately that this is where I would now be going for my dental work," Brown says. "I already have another appointment scheduled for a thorough exam.”
Douglas Hines says he’s glad he went to Dr. F. Damian Anderson of Lithia, Fla. for a second opinion when his new dentist wanted to do $6,000 of work. “Dr. Anderson said he could not find any evidence of a cavity under my bridge that the other dentist had diagnosed,” he says. “He told me there were no issues that needed his attention and that some of the work recommended by the previous dentist could result in more problems.
"He told me his office is more conservative in their approach," he says. "Everyone at Fishhawk Family Dental was very knowledgeable and helpful.”
Refilling some fillings
Barbara Anderson says Dr. Altinai Gorrity and the staff of Dental Arts of Lutz, Fla. gave her relief when she came in as a first-time patient. “I’m very nervous at the dentist, but they made sure I was comfortable throughout both sessions,” she says. “They use what seems to be the most current technology.
"At my checkup and cleaning, she discovered a problem, so I had two old fillings removed and refilled," Anderson says. "Everyone took time to explain every step of the procedures and seemed very professional and competent.”
No crown, no root canal, no pain
Ernest Quaglieri broke a tooth soon after moving into the area and found Dr. Thomas Garmon of Dunedin, Fla. on Angie’s List. “His office scheduled my appointment for two days out and told me to call immediately for an emergency appointment if I started to feel pain,” he says. “Dr. Garmon examined me and said he could fix my tooth without a crown or root canal, with no pain. The part that really made my day was at the end of the visit when he took the time to readjust my mouth guard for no charge. I don’t believe many dentists would do that.
"I’m thrilled that I found him, and I can’t imagine going anywhere else,” he says.
About Posts of Happiness
At Angie’s List, we regularly hear from members who are ecstatic about outstanding service received from the companies they’ve hired. We think such great service deserves recognition, which is why we feature Posts of Happiness.
We ask our members for nominations when they rate companies with A's in every category. To qualify, a review must be at least 500 characters about a company's actual work (not just an estimate) and members need to assure us that they'd hire again.
After a nomination, our staff selects the most outstanding stories to feature. If we choose your nomination, your review will appear in our monthly magazine and even right here on our website.
