These San Antonio plumbers snake into members’ hearts
Whether you live in Castle Hills or Shavano Park, as a San Antonio homeowner, you’re looking for great service, especially with your plumbing needs and emergencies.
Here’s the latest Post of Happiness for great service from San Antonio plumbers as selected by the Angie’s List Newsroom staff.
Rustlin' up a good plumber
When her sister’s septic tank backed up, Melissa Scott turned to Cowboy Plumbing Services of Canyon Lake, Texas to ride over to the rescue. “She had a previous plumber out, and he couldn’t solve the problem, so I called Cowboy, and Jarod [Criddle] came out the next day and determined the problem,” she says. “She had a root growing in the line close to the septic tank. With his nifty camera, he was actually able to show me the problem! There were also some issues with faulty pipes he needed to replace. He had a cancellation and got right on it three days early. He finished the project ahead of the projected time, so the charge was a lot less than anticipated.
"He’s cheerful, professional, honest, punctual, and his prices are very fair," Scott says. "I highly recommend this company.”
A Christmas cleanup
A kitchen leak had Maria Avila fearful that she’d have to wait weeks for repairs during the holiday season, but a Sunday appointment with Turdminator Plumbing of San Antonio without weekend charges cleared up that notion. “The leak was inside the wall, so he had to cut through the sink cabinet, tear down some sheet rock and remove the molded insulation to get to the leak,” she says. “He fixed the leak, sealed it, checked my water pressure and cleaned up.
"Mind you, this was Christmas week, and I knew if I found anyone who was willing to come out it would simply be a miracle," Avila says. "But in talking with Roger [Delgado] he said he was booked all week long, and the only day he could make it out would be Sunday. He fixed the problem without trying to sell me anything else. I would strongly recommend Turdminator to anyone.”
'Small but mighty'
Ann Montes flushed more than an clogged sink when she hired Bryco of San Antonio. “This company epitomizes the saying, ‘small but mighty,’ ” she says. “The clogged sink happened Sunday night, and I called Monday morning, so I did not expect a technician that day. Plus they willingly worked around my work schedule. The technician was prompt and provided the official company business card with his full name on it (no guessing who the technician is). He diagnosed the problem, explained the price and what he was going to do, and fixed the clogged sink and drain.
"On top of that, I was given a most welcome tutorial on plumbing, why certain problems happen and how to avoid them," Montes says. "That alone was well worth the price of the call. This company has its act together.”
Fit for a king
Installation of four new thrones gave Robert Mahon several options for taking care of business. He chose AFM Plumbing of Schertz, Texas. “This father and son team came exactly on time and immediately assessed the situation,” he says. “They told me and showed me upfront that one bathroom would need extra plumbing work. The new toilets were one-piece (i.e. heavy!) but they had no problem bringing each one from the garage and two up to the second floor. We had ordered the toilets ourselves beforehand online; however, as part of their service, they took all of the cardboard boxes, insulation and waste that the toilets had been delivered in and even swept out the garage afterward! This would’ve taken me weeks to get rid of using the garbage container. They’ll also take the old toilets if you wish.
"The entire job from start to finish took two hours," Mahon reports. "A perfect experience; my highest recommendation!”
About Posts of Happiness
At Angie’s List, we regularly hear from members who are ecstatic about outstanding service received from the companies they’ve hired. We think such great service deserves recognition, which is why we feature Posts of Happiness.
We ask our members for nominations when they rate companies with A's in every category. To qualify, a review must be at least 500 characters about a company's actual work (not just an estimate) and members need to assure us that they'd hire again.
After a nomination, our staff selects the most outstanding stories to feature. If we choose your nomination, your review will appear in our monthly magazine and even right here on our website.
