These Portland plumbers provide spectacular service

Whether you live in Beaverton or South Burlingame, as a Portland homeowner, you’re looking for great service, especially with your plumbing needs and emergencies.

Here’s the latest Post of Happiness for great service from Portland plumbers as selected by the Angie’s List Newsroom staff.

Outdoor faucet emergency

Teresa Street appreciated the friendly neighbor feel of Sarkinen Plumbing of Vancouver, Wash. “They replaced an outdoor faucet that had broken,” she says. “They came out in the snow and ice at 8:30 p.m. on a Saturday. They explained a permanent solution to my outdoor faucet that had broken and was spraying water, and they were willing to get it done that night. I appreciate them taking the time to do the permanent fix rather than a patch job, which is what I had anticipated.

"Their communication with me regarding anticipated and actual arrival was wonderful," Street continues. "They even accepted the Angie’s List coupon, which I didn’t think would apply on an emergency call. I wish more companies had their work ethic.”

Super service on a leak

When Deborah Nadell hired John D Plumbing of Portland, Ore., owner John Dragomir went above the call of duty.“A water pipe near the water heater started leaking and water was shooting out of a pinhole,” she says.“I called on Super Bowl Sunday, never expecting to get service that day, but the leak was pretty bad. When I called, John didn’t even flinch. He said he’d be out in a few hours.

"He arrived on time, fixed my pipes with hardware that was better than the original and took time to explain to me why it failed to begin with and why he replaced the hardware with pipes that are much less likely to fail again," Nadell says. "By chance, I asked him where he was when I called him. He said he was fishing on a river 50 miles away! Wow, what customer service.”

Seal of approval

M.J.’s Plumbing of Portland brought peace to Harmony Brown’s plumbing fiasco. “M.J.’s fixed a leak that was dumping water into my basement every time the toilet was flushed,” she says. “I had water leaking down into my basement via the stack from the bathroom above. I wasn’t sure if it was a problem with the stack or the toilet itself. M.J.’s was quickly able to determine the stack was fine, and I needed a new wax ring at the base of my toilet. They removed the toilet and placed not one, but two wax rings for a stronger seal on the old stack. I always call them when I need anything.”

Honesty appreciated

Susan DeMerit’s positive experience with Apollo Drain & Plumbing of Gresham, Ore. was out of this world. “I called on a Friday, but they were booked solid,” she says. “However, they had time on Saturday. It took maybe 10 minutes for them to clear the drain. I inquired about videotaping the sewer line to the street and having the drains power jetted. They were totally honest and said with the age of the house, that would not be necessary. They checked the clean-out drain outside and said it was fine. I so appreciate their honesty and would definitely use Apollo again. Their honesty sold me over!”

About Posts of Happiness

At Angie’s List, we regularly hear from members who are ecstatic about outstanding service received from the companies they’ve hired. We think such great service deserves recognition, which is why we feature Posts of Happiness.

We ask our members for nominations when they rate companies with A's in every category. To qualify, a review must be at least 500 characters about a company's actual work (not just an estimate) and members need to assure us that they'd hire again.

After a nomination, our staff selects the most outstanding stories to feature. If we choose your nomination, your review will appear in our monthly magazine and even right here on our website.
