These Kansas City dentists go above and beyond
Whether you live in Overland Park or in Lee's Summit, you’re looking for great service, especially regarding your family’s dental care.
Here’s the latest Post of Happiness for great service from Kansas City dentists as selected by the Angie’s List Newsroom staff.
A kid-friendly dentist
Dr. LeBlanc Jenkins & LeBlanc of Overland Park, Kan. won Ellen Peters over with his sweet demeanor towards her children. “I wanted to schedule all three of my children’s teeth cleanings at the same time, [and] they easily set this up for me,” she says. “My wait time was very short, and they got all the kids in at the same time, which was a huge relief.
"I was very happy with their communication and how well the staff interacted with my daughters," Peters says. "They made my girls very comfortable, and the whole appointment for all three girls took less than an hour. Dr. Leblanc was very interested in what my kids had to say and was very thorough in his assessment. The sugar-free ice cream he gave the kids went over very well with them as well.”
Passion not profits
Angela Orangifard loves feeling like Dr. Mark Wooddy of Prairie Village, Kan. is a friend, not just her dentist. “Dr. Wooddy came highly recommended by my neighbor, and he didn’t disappoint. He’s the best dentist I’ve ever been to,” she says. “He is kind, caring, polite and completely genuine. His staff is equally friendly. He not only gets to know your dental needs, but he also seems to care about knowing his patients as people.
"I’ve always had anxiety about going to the dentist, but I’m completely comfortable with him," she says. "He’s in the business for his passion, not to make extra money for procedures that aren’t needed. My kids love to go see him as well. He’s an all-around good guy.”
Catering to cowards
Theresa Heitz compared finding Dr. Steven Baker of Prairie Village, Kan. to the cowardly lion finding the Wizard of Oz. “I’m very nervous about dentists and wanted to find someone who catered to cowards,” she says. “Dr. Baker’s office is comfortable and the staff makes you feel at home. They’re terrific at what they do and strive to make the experience as tension-free as possible.
"Dr. Baker performed dental surgery on me and the experience went without a hitch," she says. "He made himself available on a private cell phone over the weekend in case I needed anything, which I did. He didn’t hesitate to pick up the phone and help. I’ve found my dentist.”
Beyond the call of duty
Dr. Shapiro at New Mark Dental Care of Kansas City, Mo. left a mark on dentistry for Kristen Marshall. “My husband and I have been going to Dr. Shapiro since we moved to Kansas City 11 years ago,” she says. “He’s so personable and really cares about his patients. He staff members are great and are very thorough with their follow up. He now sees my daughter, and she looks forward to her cleanings.
"He also went far and above the call of duty to help ensure that my sister-in-law had a good experience when she was in dental hygienist school," she says. "I’m looking forward of being a patient at New Mark for many years to come.”
About Posts of Happiness
At Angie’s List, we regularly hear from members who are ecstatic about outstanding service received from the companies they’ve hired. We think such great service deserves recognition, which is why we feature Posts of Happiness.
We ask our members for nominations when they rate companies with A's in every category. To qualify, a review must be at least 500 characters about a company's actual work (not just an estimate) and members need to assure us that they'd hire again.
After a nomination, our staff selects the most outstanding stories to feature. If we choose your nomination, your review will appear in our monthly magazine and even right here on our website.
