These Columbus plumbers keep members plumb happy
Whether you live north in Dublin or down in Bexley, as a Columbus homeowner, you’re looking for great service, especially with your plumbing needs and emergencies.
Here’s the latest Post of Happiness for great service from Columbus plumbers as selected by the Angie’s List Newsroom staff.
Buckets full of trouble
Emergency Plumbing of Delaware, Ohio gave David Moeslein the seal of perfection he needed to solve his urgent problem. “Emergency is a key phrase in my story. Late on a Saturday night, I heard a noise and discovered it was my water pipe in the basement, and it had sprung a leak and started squirting water at a very rapid rate,” he says. “It filled a bucket in just a minute, and diverting it wasn’t an option. I had to shut the water off in the house.
"I called the Emergency Plumbing service and got a recording. I figured I’d never hear back, but within five minutes they called and within 45 minutes they were at my house. Just an hour later the problem was fixed. I asked the lady on the phone how much extra the after-hours repair would cost, and she said it would be a $50 extra fee for the emergency. I didn’t want to wait to destroy the basement over $50, so I had them come. However, the repair cost less than what she quoted me for the service and extra fee. It was very impressive, I am so pleased.”
Service above and beyond
When Elaine Gold had a water heater problem, she didn’t expect great service to flow so freely. But Express Plumbing of Grove City, Ohio blew her expectations away. “I rate Express Plumbing with an A++++, especially the owner, Brian Lincoln,” she says. “He was kind, respectful of my property and pets, honest and left my home clean in a timely manner. He did an excellent job of installing my new water heater.
"While he was at my house, I asked him to tighten and loose faucet and offered to pay extra for the service," Gold says. "He noticed the previously installed p-trap was upside down, and he corrected it and reinstalled it correctly, even though his company didn’t cause the problem. He also charged me nothing for this repair and obtained the permits needed for the water heater work. If you are looking for a person that takes pride in their work and doesn’t overcharge for services, I highly recommend Express Plumbing.”
Relief for frozen pipes
After Christine Zender’s water pipes froze on a very cold day, A Plumbing of Columbus, Ohio provided the steam needed to get things flowing again. “One day my pipes froze, and I had no water. I called a bunch of plumbers, and they told me it would take at least two days to help me,” she says.
“When I called A Plumbing, the tech showed up and told me he could cut open the walls and thaw the pipes, but it would cost me a lot in hourly labor," Zender reports. "However, he said I could do it myself and save a ton of money by using a small space heater. I did this and when the pipes unfroze, I noticed the freeze caused them to crack and water started running into my utility room. The plumbing tech came back quickly and cut open the wall, replaced a few pipes and the shut off valve. He also said my bill would’ve been much higher had I not done the thawing myself. I appreciate that he saved me so much money and he was honest about the work. This company is nice, professional and did a great job. They cleaned up really well too.”
A quick-fix discount
Pro-Flow Plumbing & Drain Cleaning of Galloway, Ohio saved the day, before Justin Clarke’s wife discovered he hadn’t fixed the leak under the sink as promised. “I had a leak under the sink and couldn’t figure it out myself. I called the owner, Shiloh Caine, and asked him to look at it while my wife was at work,” he says. “Of course Pro-Flow and Shiloh figured it out and made it work. Their hourly rate is a flat $150, which is half of another company I’ve used and Pro-Flow does a much better job.
"However, because he was able to fix the leak quickly, he only charged me a $50 plumbing service fee," Clarke says. "There was no reason for him to offer this discount, and as always I am blown away by the customer service and professionalism. This is a plumber you can trust and use in your home. I am truly thankful to have found them. I only wish they could do other home repairs like roofing!”
About Posts of Happiness
At Angie’s List, we regularly hear from members who are ecstatic about outstanding service received from the companies they’ve hired. We think such great service deserves recognition, which is why we feature Posts of Happiness.
We ask our members for nominations when they rate companies with A's in every category. To qualify, a review must be at least 500 characters about a company's actual work (not just an estimate) and members need to assure us that they'd hire again.
After a nomination, our staff selects the most outstanding stories to feature. If we choose your nomination, your review will appear in our monthly magazine and even right here on our website.
