These Columbus carpet cleaners earn praise for reviving rugs
Whether you live north in Dublin or down in Bexley, as a homeowner, you’re looking for great service, especially when dealing with stained or dirty carpets.
Here’s the latest Post of Happiness for great service from Columbus-area carpet cleaners as selected by the Angie’s List Newsroom staff.
Mischievous pooch makes carpet messes
When her mischievous dog goes on a messy new food-seeking adventure, Vanessa Tussey knows Elite Cleaning & Restoration of Columbus is the place to call. “I’ve used them three times. The first was when the carpet in the master bedroom smelled like pet urine right after I moved in. For $35 Rick [Chapman, the owner] used a special deodorizer and the smell disappeared,” she says.
“I used Rick again when my dog opened a bag of sugar on the carpet. The sugar and saliva created a sticky mess, he easily cleaned the carpet and got it up. Finally I used Rick when my dog opened a bottle of craft paint in the hallway. He also opened a bottle of canola oil and dripped it all over the carpet. He told me the paint probably wouldn’t come out, but it did. This company is punctual, affordable and even come back and check on the work.”
Advanced Hard Surface Cleaning of Westerville rescued Kathy Holland from a sea of soggy carpet. “Jason [O'Rourke, the owner] cleaned the carpet in my basement after a huge water spill from my fish tank. I had odor problems with the fishy water and pet urine odor on the carpet,” she says. “Not only did he get the carpet clean, but he left his fans and returned twice to check on the floors.
"I believe he gives this much attention to everything he does," she says. "I’ve used him several times and am always pleased. He’s the person to hire for a job well done. My carpet looks and smells amazing.”
Doggie treat almost ruins love seat
John M. Downey Clean Carpet Cleaning Company of Columbus turned a seemingly impossible task into perfection for Michelle Wolf. “My dog chewed a rawhide treat on my sofa and love seat,” she says. “The technician called a half an hour before coming and worked hard core at cleaning the mess. I couldn’t believe he was able to get the rawhide residue off, I thought it would be impossible.
"They did a wonderful job on the carpet cleaning and got stains up I never thought would come up,"she says. "I’d recommend them to anyone.”
A pristine clean to sell a home
When Tom Brown’s Carpet Care of Powell performed meticulous work on Gretchen Taylor’s carpet, the company helped the homeowner put her best foot forward when potential buyers visited. “Tom deep cleaned my couch, ottoman, carpet and polished my parquet floor,” she says. "I needed this deep carpet and floor cleaning to put my home on the market. The carpets now look better than when I moved in. He restored areas that have seen some serious use by my young children.
“Tom is a pro and is very pleasant to work with," Taylor says. "It’s easy to schedule with him. His attention to detail is second to none, and he is reasonably priced. I highly recommend him.”
About Posts of Happiness
At Angie’s List, we regularly hear from members who are ecstatic about outstanding service received from the companies they’ve hired. We think such great service deserves recognition, which is why we feature Posts of Happiness.
We ask our members for nominations when they rate companies with A's in every category. To qualify, a review must be at least 500 characters about a company's actual work (not just an estimate) and members need to assure us that they'd hire again.
After a nomination, our staff selects the most outstanding stories to feature. If we choose your nomination, your review will appear in our monthly magazine and even right here on our website.
