These Boston plumbers earn a flood of praise
Whether you live in Brookline or Cambridge, as a Boston homeowner, you’re looking for great service, especially with your plumbing needs and emergencies.
Here’s the latest Post of Happiness for great service from Boston plumbers as selected by the Angie’s List Newsroom staff.
A 2-minute fix
Rob Dangel pours out praise for Provost Plumbing of Dedham, Mass. “I had a tub valve that caused $5,000 in damages to my home,” he says. “I was without water for two days thinking I could fix it myself. I was frantic by day two, and finally gave up.
"I called Provost and they came right over," Dangel says. "They fixed the problem in about two minutes. They offered to put everything I pulled apart back together. The plumber was great with my wife and kids. It’s so hard to find good plumbers, this one is definitely a keeper!”
Unfreezing the pipes
Mike Lulu Plumbing & Heating of Webster, Mass. thawed Robert Oakes’ piping problems. “I had a pipe freeze. I phoned Mike with a concern about not having heat in my family room,” he says. “Mike located the frozen pipe in the basement, thawed it out and then insulated the pipe to prevent a repeat freeze up. He stayed a bit to make sure the cold pipe turned hot again.
"He also gave me other tips on how to prevent it from freezing again," Oakes says. "The service call went about as perfectly as any service call can and it was reasonably priced.”
Putting the 'service' in service call
Rhino Rooter of Waltham, Mass. diagnosed Jessica McManus’ drain issues. “Owner David Rocca unclogged my kitchen drain pipe,” she says. “First off, when I called late on a Friday he was at my home in 10 minutes. Then, when he came to the door he introduced himself and shook my hand. Not many service people properly introduce themselves to me when I answer the door.
"Finally, and most importantly, he got the job done," she says. "He explained the situation and how he was going to fix it. He was professional and detail-oriented.”
Kathleen Busick is plumb pleased with the service provided by JMS Plumbing and Heating of Hooksett, N.H. “The pressure valve on my water heater broke and enough water came out to flood a portion of my finished basement,” she says. “Owner Jay Sebastian responded quickly to my call and capped off the heater, so I could turn on the water to the rest of the house. When he came back to replace the water heater, he took the old one with him!
"The work was completed efficiently and to a very high standard," Busick says. "I couldn’t have been more pleased.”
About Posts of Happiness
At Angie’s List, we regularly hear from members who are ecstatic about outstanding service received from the companies they’ve hired. We think such great service deserves recognition, which is why we feature Posts of Happiness.
We ask our members for nominations when they rate companies with A's in every category. To qualify, a review must be at least 500 characters about a company's actual work (not just an estimate) and members need to assure us that they'd hire again.
After a nomination, our staff selects the most outstanding stories to feature. If we choose your nomination, your review will appear in our monthly magazine and even right here on our website.
