Tampa plumber's work leaves leak under sink
COMPLAINT: Steven Silverman, Tampa
"I hired Red Cap Plumbing to inspect a leak under my kitchen sink. They told me I needed to replace my garbage disposal. I paid them $485 to repair it. Several months later, the leak was still there and mold was everywhere. Red Cap returned and said I needed a new faucet, so I paid them another $321.
"It was leaking again days later. A new Red Cap representative said it was a leaking valve and gave me a quote for a few hundred dollars. They had the nerve to tell me on the third visit that I had to pay a service charge. I called to speak to the owner, but I had to leave a message. It has been two weeks and I haven't heard from the company."
DESIRED RESOLUTION: "I want Red Cap to repair the leak."
RESPONSE: Ann Gennaro, vice president, Red Cap Plumbing
"We're in the process of getting a hold of the member and scheduling a time to get Red Cap's owner to his home. The owner wasn't aware of this situation and will address the customer's concern."
Red Cap says they tried to set up a meeting, but the member never responded to their attempts.
