COMPLAINT: James Larsen, Crystal Beach
"Paint-master Pete's Inc. painted my entire house. This contractor is unprofessional. They left the job unfinished after demanding $3,000 more than the estimate. The workers were filthy and even left feces in a toilet.
"I've had to hire another painter to finish this lousy job. This was the worst experience with any subcontractor, ever. They destroyed one of my new $200 ceiling fans. Altogether, I paid $10,500. I made a big mistake hiring them.
DESIRED RESOLUTION: "The only resolution that makes any sense to me is a $2,500 refund."
STATUS: Penalty box
COMPLAINT: Doug Longfellow, Tampa, Fla.
"I brought some clothes into Star Cleaners for dry cleaning, and they lost my stuff. The owner even admitted they were at fault and asked how much they were. They said they would reimburse me. I even prepaid for the cleaning.
"My wife has called them at least four or five times. I've attempted to call as well and neither of us can get a hold of them."
DESIRED RESOLUTION: "I want to be reimbursed $150 for the cost of my shirt, pants and the dry cleaning."
STATUS: Penalty box
