Tampa firm ignores issues with grass, removal of trees
COMPLAINT: Howard Colvin, Brandon, Fla.
They removed the old sod and brought in two loads of new sod. The first load appeared more dead than alive. I was assured that with water it would come back.
The second load was greener and successfully took after much watering. Almost all of the sod from the first load is dead.
After a tree was removed, sod from the second load was inserted and it looks fine — except for the weeds. There was no spraying of the yard to remove weeds.
In some cases there's a checkerboard effect where the first and second loads of sod were used. The Sod Father removed the trees as promised, but didn't grind the stumps — they simply put pieces of sod over them.
They also didn't clean out all of the rocks from the flower beds. They did the major beds, but the small beds directly in front of the house still have all of their rocks.
They repeatedly told me they'd be back to grind the stumps and look at the yard, but after three weeks of excuses nobody has shown up.
DESIRED RESOLUTION: I'd like them to grind the stumps, remove the rocks and replace the defective sod.
