COMPLAINT: Helen E. Korber, St. Petersburg, Fla.
"I hired Peninsula Tree Service to trim a cluster of palm trees in the front yard. One medium-sized palm was not done. Tony Wiggins [the owner] stated that he 'forgot' to do the tree in question and would be back the following day to finish.
Two days later, my husband called his cell and office phones and left messages.
A week later, Tony Wiggins showed up unannounced. He apologized for not returning our calls. He requested that I remove the Angie's List complaint if he trimmed the palm to my satisfaction. I said I would.
In less than 10 minutes, I went outside to look at the tree and he was gone. He only removed a few dead palms from the top, leaving a mess of weeds growing out of the trunk.
This wasn't the kind of professional work anyone would expect from an experienced tree person."
DESIRED RESOLUTION: "I want the tree trimmed in a professional manner."
RESPONSE: Tony Wiggins, owner, Peninsula Tree Service
"I feel that my company did an excellent job for the member.
There was one palm that I didn't have room for and told the member I'd be back to do it. I trimmed the palm in question.
The member made another complaint to Angie's List that I missed some weeds at the bottom of the same palm. I immediately made another trip to her home.
Her husband said the palm was fine and he'd clipped the weeds. I hope this situation is resolved, as customer satisfaction is very important to me."
